well very soon by the looks of it...

got my starter working by opening and having my dad (a sparky) look at it and replace a broken wire. after playing around at the exposed fly wheel when the engine didnt start with the starter back in ive found that the starter ring is turning on the flywheel so thats going to need sorting. Anyone know how i would go about doing this? Please if you have nothing constructive to say just dont bother as I dont come here for abuse, i can get that from the mrs, i come here for advice

wasn't trying to give you abuse, generally once you've started working on your own cars you end up doing everything....
What advice are you looking for? Removal of the flywheel?

didn't aim it at you, just quoted you to reply lol.

erm no removal of the fly wheel is surely just gearbox off and your there like? Obviously not exactly as simple as I just put it. After advice on if I do need another flywheeel or something else such as starter ring gear
That sucks, what flywheel is it?
yup. Its the OEM one as far as I'm aware, nothing to suggest otherwise

Iirc the starter gears are heated then shrunk over the flywheel to create a tight fit, if yours has come loose for whatever reason I think you'll need a new one.
I've got an oem flywheel from my b16b if you wanted a stock one, but I'd upgrade tbh

yeah was thinking of going lightened and maybe put a stage 1 clutch in while I'm there? Any better ones to buy for a decent price?

I've got a fidenza flywheel in mine. Think it's one of the cheaper ones but has stood up to my abuse.
If you don't plan on many mods(like serious engine work or turbo conversions) then stock clutch is very good.
