Spoon clocks rare??


the spoon engine it revs to 11k

gonna see if my man in Japan will get those for me :p unless your wanting them and i wont lol
 
hey i want one of those spoon gauge clusters.. where can i find one besides that auction.. anyone know.. i have a 96 ek..
 
Hahaha clocks, I was thinking like an actual clock or something when I read the post. In the US we just call them guage clusters. And yes those are rare, but very cool IMO.

i was thinking the same... those are rare and expensive, ive seen them sell for $800+ US, also spoon engine does not rev to 11, they built 1 engine that revved to 11, and the parts they used were since discontinued...

If I could get it to fit right and I happened to have that much extra money, I would fit an ITR spoon cluster into my ek. That would be sick, and It hasnt been done before (i think?)

ive seen itr gauge cluster in ej/ek/em cars, there are minor gaps..
 
cluster is hella nice but well expensive!

The Spoon EK9 did rev to 11k rpm. They used the Spoon bottom brace to make sure it didnt rattle its self to pieces and to this day they still sell them. So the parts are not discontinued. They just cost alot.
 
you mean the cluster is not discontinued ? whe its not in their catalog or webiste ?
 
no he means the spoon engine brace and block is still available from Spoon :)
 
I don't think the Spoon gauges are rare. I think they want us to believe they are rare for $$$. What does it mean rare anyway? B16B engines are said to be rare as well!!

It depend on where you live, for people who live in Canada, Spoon cluster is very rare and B16B even more rare
In canada Calgary(where I live) I only saw 1 REAL JDM Spoon Engine. About 3~4 B16B and 2 spoon clusters so far...

I am thinking the same thing when I first look at the title...(In my mind)""Spoon clock..I had never hear about it before..must be very rare ""

Ok they maybe aint as rare as rocking horse sh1t :lol: but they are very rare and dont come up for sale often, hence such a high price with them dude
