Good power increase, but I really think maybe I needed more compression to take the most out of this cams. The idle SUCKS, I was never able to get a decent idle. Specially for a daily drive.

I decided to go back to ctr cams :)

Hope this helps you guys.

im runing skunk 2 tuner stage 2 cams and love them lad!!!

idle is identical to standard itr cams and then loads more power in vtec :))

it was vtec6000 off here who chose my cams and maped the car for me u should pm him!!!:nice:

Just got me a set of skunk 2 Pro 1s..

Need advice for valvetrain

Current set up is high comp b16a ctr style ycp pistons fresh motor reading 250psi across all 4 cyl

I have the following bolt on/software
2.5 inch straight pipe decat
AEM wideband
Neptune software
ITR exhaust manifold
Blox intake arm
Spoon flywheel
4.7fd s4c with cusco diff
K20 injectors
Walbro 255
Buddy club adjustable cam gears

Was planning on getting a 70mm tb
+ITR intake + and supertec valve springs and retainers

Would the supertec springs and retainers be good for the pro 1s? And what ones would I want considering I'm running high comp with pro 1s..

Thanks in advance

The manifold is a good plan. Tb size is a choice of torque or top end. The b16b tb is smaller than the itr one and i think the itr tb is a bad move on a stock b16b - too much mid range lost for a couple of peak hp. I tried both. You will have a slightly more cammed engine so it may be preferable to flip to the itr.

I am sure any reputable double valve spring will work.

As for retainers - i like crower steel for rhe price. I would suggest stock unless the lift would cause them to clash.

Titanium is a waste of money unless youre going super high revs.

Nice! Thanks,

I have a set of oem dual springs there off a sir on the intake side but not sure are they gonna cut it ,coil bind and so on...

I think I'll splash out and get the supertec or I'll see what price the skunk2s are compared to them.. seen ppl say to stick with the same brand with cam and springs.. But I'm sure that it isn't a big deal

I must look them crowers up and compare weights.. I want to get to the 9k rpm range so was thinking the lighter retainers would be better..

Thanks Diarmuid

Pro 1's won't need you to be super high on revs to make peak and honestly I've rarely seen evidence of revs killing Honda engines - its nearly always a melted piston [turbo] or a spun big end bearing. At long as the valve isn't "floating" the mass is not an enormous issue.

I'd imagine steel is fine - but certainly titanium is preferable in terms of mass if you want to pay out for it.

I did have matched springs and cams on my B18C but that was because the cams were very wild Toda C (Think Skunk2 Pro 3) and had already shattered a different brand of valvesprings in another engine. Toda springs are "egg shaped" in profile and no doubt high quality but they cost a few ££.
