Hi guys,

You may remember my DC2 which I has imported last year and unfortunately wrote off on the way to Japfest. If not here it is before the crash.

And afterwards...

Miss the car everyday as it was such a perfect example

So anyways, I've been out of the country for the last 7 months with the navy and got back a few weeks ago. First priority was to get a new car of course! I did really want another import if it was either an EK9 or another DC2, but couldn't get insured, understandably.

So opted for an EP3 as the insurance wasn't as bad I was expecting with all things considered. So I got this silver premier edition a few weeks back for a decent price. (Excuse the dirtiness off the car, still waiting for a load of cleaning products to come through the post!)

It seems though that I don't have much luck with cars! I hadn't even had the car 24 hours and parked it in a retail park and some idiot drove into my front wing!!

So the car will be going into have the whole front end addressed as the bonnet has a million and one stone chips as well! haha

In the meantime the car came standard so I have done a couple of things. First off purchased a brand new set of JDM wind deflectors, probably the last set available as well seeing that Honda don't make or sell these anymore and you can't even get them from Japan! Haven't fitted them yet, will be done once the car is cleaned.

Bought myself a nearly new exhaust the other week as well...awesome sound and looks quality!

Fitting it was bit awkward as it was touching the underside of the car the majority of the time. So took it to an exhaust garage who managed to get it sitting correctly and fits perfectly now. Just as well I did change it, this is what the b-pipe looked like...right dodgy work!!

Looks good from the rear bumper though.

So a few days after that this came through the post as well!!

Bit disappointed as the courier company managed to damage one of the bolt holes!

Fitting was a nightmare!! Had to relocate the cable for the battery's positive side and remove the battery tray. It kept on hitting the bonnet as well, so we had to play around with the spacers to get it to fit.

That's it for the time being, the wallet needs a bit of rest! lol Plans are to get the suspension and handling sorted out first and refresh some of the worn bushes. Then get some wheels and finally finish off with the parts needed before mapping on K-Pro.

Progress may be slow as I'm not in the UK all that much but will be sure to update it as and when!

Thanks for reading!

Oh... Its you :p I remember seeing that crash on my Facebook.

Love a bit of J's :) Some s**tty postal service we have! They damaged my Spoon spoiler, so you're not alone.

Glad your back in a honda pal. Bad luck seems to follow you about. Hopefully it will change soon.

Good quality parts going on. The intake does look a tight squeeze right enough lol

Cheers guys. :) So been a while and had a few bits and pieces done. First off was to sort out the damage to the front end after the damage done in the car park. Got a good quote for a front end respray and the car needed it with sooo many stone chips anyway, so went for it!:))

They've done a really good job and you can't tell where its been blended in so really happy! The repaired bumper and wing:

And the resprayed front end. :))

Unfortunately a few days late someone decided they would put a nice long scratch in my wing! :slap: Luckily I got the worst of it out with a DA polisher, but still, a ball ache after forking out for it to be resprayed!

Finally fitted my JDM wind deflectors after about 2 months sitting in the garage.
Clips were useless so just used the tape. lol

Spooner did me a nice J's Teal rocker cover with a bit of gold flake as well. In the light it looks awesome!

Also picked up some Yellow Speed coilovers for a decent price, all stripped down now and need fitting soon. :p

So thats everything up to date. A few mates of mine bought me the Tegiwa engine bay washer kit for my birthday that you can see in the pictures. Still need to fit over half of them but can't figure out where they are all meant to go! lol

Next up is to get some camber arms and getting the coilovers fitted and then set up. I've also gone and splashed out on a set of Work Emotion D9R's from Driftworks (couldn't resist their new prices!) as well as a personal steering wheel. They should be here at the end of the month!

Other bits and pieces to tidy up the engine bay and then onto the parts needed for my remap.:nice:

Front end looks super fresh mate. Such bad luck with the wing though. Don't seem to be having much luck. Hopefully gets better. Rocker looks smart as well. Nice touch.

I had the j's intake on my old DC5. Amazing looking intake and gave me good gains too. Just the price!!
:eek2:

Cheers @Bushell, managed to get the scratch out mostly another quick whirl with the DA and it'll be back to perfect. :nice: But no you're right...my luck with cars doesn't seem to be that great.

Yeh I know tell me about it @Integradan ! :nerv: Luckily I picked mine up for £350, which I thought was decent seeing as they were about £900 new and aren't made any more. I know thats the price of a new Teg M, but everyone has one so I'm happy to have something a bit different. :p Thats a lovely looking bay as well!

Looking good mate. I was down for Japfest that year and remember hearing about your crash on the way back up! (there were two incidents). Glad you're alright and that's not stopped you from going back into the Honda scene.

Nice ep3 mate, same colour as mine! :) wish my lights looked as fresh as yours, tried everything to bring them back to life! :(

Cheers man, yeh I believe the other one was a guy called Dan in an MR2. His car got off better than mine as he was able to repair the damage.
The only thing that would really have stopped me was going to be insurance. Did want another import (ek9 or dc2) but insurance companies didn't want to even give me a price! Haha which is understandable.
Never know, might get a shell and stick the K20 out the EP3 when I get bored of it! Ha

Thanks, don't think I've seen yours on the forum?
Believe me they are far from fresh! I've got loads of oxidisation on mine, it's just the iPhone is pretty naff so doesn't pick them up! Ha

I haven't put any pics of mine on th forum, am slacking! Gna give th car a detail soon since weather is better and I will get pics up.
Ah right th pics look good! The oxidisation is a nightmare, no way of gettin rid of it?

Car looks good man, all the best parts going on it!
Jealous of the wind deflectors, been after a set for ages!

Hopefully there is, I'm going to try and sand them and then polish them up using finer and finer grades. Hopefully that works, will post some before and after pictures when I get round to doing it.

Ha tell me about it! I think I may have made the score of the year for myself getting these. Got them brand new in the box in February this year after they were bought by someone in December last year. I believe there are none available in Japan new anymore from Honda as they've stopped production and sold out, so this was probably one of the last new sets anywhere!
By god they weren't cheap though! :eek2:

Remember you posting about the dc2 looked really clean, unfortunate on the problems your having but I'm sure you'll get a break for a little while until something else happens same as us all haha as for the intake looks awsome but the small pipe from intake to rocker cover I'd delete and run a pipe from rocker cover to catch can that's what I've done on my fresh import dc5 keeps the oily crap from recirculating also loop your tb coolant line if you google these ull see its a common mod on the k engine

Thanks for the info man, yeh I was going to change it for a black silicone breather pipe and a mate of mine had advised me to get a catch can as well. Don't suppose you have a picture of your setup? ( just to get an idea)

As for the coolant line to the TB, haven't heard about this problem yet, but will google it. Cheers for the heads up :nice:

Love the J's racing theme starting on this one! That DC2 in that state makes me sad though, My reg. plate ends in JSS too, Mine wasn't registered long before yours if If I remember correctly.

Cheers mate, yeh it wasn't really intended at first but the exhaust and intake came up for sale at the same time for decent prices so went for them. After that I just though why not go for all their parts. :lol:Although I'm only really going to get the strut braces, oil & radiator caps. haha

Makes me feel 10 times worse seeing the teg like that :(:angry2:

Yeh it's weird how the reg plates work, a lad called Alex imported an EK9 from Torque GT at the same time as I bought mine. His reg finishes in JSS as well and is only a few numbers away from what mine was.
