I have a silly question but i thought id ask rather than be a fool.

I couldn't afford a paint job straight away so i had an idea but i think its kind of stupid... If i bought say a rear bumper, bumper, 2 doors, front wings and a bonnet then got them sprayed a colour (over a period of time) then got the car sprayed in that colour do you think it would be cheaper. I think this would be easier on my pocket rather than putting out £1000+ at one time but then i think im spending more as im buying extra doors etc. also i thought that the pain work wouldn't match exactly if its been done at different times

End if friday night ramble lol

I wouldn't think it will make much of a difference in the price tbh. I'd be more concerned about the colour matching on all the panels once the car is finished

I thought the finish wouldnt be good either.

Ohh well it was just a idea that popped into my head lol

If anything it will be more expensive, it is always cheaper to have a job lot done. Plus the colour may not match as said.

Another question i have is see when you take a car to get a full respray do they treat rust ? Or do i have to do that ?

Get it sprayed in one go and a good bodyshop will treat surface rust with wire wheel and rust stopper etc

If the rust is worse than just light surface then it needs cut out and new metal welded in by a metal worker, if not there is absolutely no point in painting the car as the rust will come back through in no time!

Thanks what about getting small dents pulled out ? Can they do that aswell

I think my car is going to set me back quite alot if i got it resprayed

All depends on the bodyshop, if its only a small dent most bodyshops will use a small bit of filler.

Dent guys charge around £50 a panel to take all the dents out without any paint etc as they push them out from behind the panel
