Recently in my dc2 when stopping at lights, roundabouts or junctions.. Wherever really, I can't select first. I can select any other gear fine just takes a few attempts to be able to get into first.
Any ideas what this could be?

Guna bump this up, anyone have an idea what it could be?

could be pilot bearing or syncros, or both. lol

Could be something to do with you clutch also. Change your gearbox oil also and go from there. Is it making any funny noises? Like grind when in low gears, crunching, whining ect

I have had the syncros changed for mfactory ones because It crunched before.
No I won't change into first unless I'm stopped anyway, when trying to engage first it it's like there's a block there and won't select, give it a few tries and go into second then first and it'll go in.
Ill try changing my box oil and go from there

When the car is stopped and you can't get into first gear, try putting the car into 2nd gear first then to 1st to see if it goes in straight away..

Try an oil change. Makes a big difference to B series and this problem.

I had the same problem and then one day up the motorway I found out that my clutch had disintegrated lol!

My first gear was always a bit like that, but once I fitted my Mfactory shifter bushings, it seems to have aligned everything better and now it slots in first with a lot more ease.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Not a nice feeling is it?!
