Saqib's EK9

Two pictures I forgot to upload. They're from a launch event back in August for the new Type R, it was held by a Honda dealership just outside Glasgow.

All round it was decent with some previous generation Type R's invited as a part of the event.

In other news, she's now off the road for winter. I put the car into storage as of yesterday and won't be on the road again until April or May next year.

And it's nice for the 9er to be tucked away with this sensational 550hp R32 Skyline GT-R. One of the cleanest R32s I've seen.

It's been a cracking year with this car and I have absolutely no plans of letting her go.

Lovely......if you weren't so far away I'd ask if you could squeeze another little '9 in there with those two beauties! :)

So I've just taken the car out of storage after about 4 months.

Here it was stored with my cousin's R32 GT-R:

The car was filthy which gave me the opportunity to express myself:

Dropped the oil and this time opted for some HKS Super Oil. I hang about with Skyline guys a lot...

The car was cleaned and detailed by the same detailer I've used for a long time. R222 was the usual choice of wax but I was upgraded to some premium Swissvax at no extra cost so no complaints there! So far so good and the beading is decent too.

And just some other pictures:

So aye, happy days :nice:

stunning photos, thank for sharing :D

Haven’t updated this since I took the car out of storage!

No modifications or changes to report.

I was at the Scottish Car Show just like last year, this time on the Rev Limits stand.

I actually had no intention of being a part of the show as the car is usually a bit dirty and I don’t spend a lot of time cleaning it. I’d rather that the vast majority of my time with the EK9 is spent driving it.

That said, I still look after the car in terms of paint and bodywork, ensuring there’s always a decent amount of wax protection and that it’s washed according to proper methods.

Anyway I was asked to fill some space on the stand, so I thought why not. A few pictures:

The bigger update is that I had my 2nd trackday at Knockhill on the 16th August. It was a 2-hour evening session.

The trackday consisted mostly of high-end sports cars and supercars.

It was quite an experience sharing the track with a lot of serious machinery, including but not limited to: R35 GTRs, McLarens, 911 Turbos, 911 GT3s, various crazy Lotus models, Ultimas, Aston Martin Vantage V12 etc. In fact the only other Honda on track was a really clean FD2.

A little bit intimidating at first given how much quicker a lot of the cars were and how easily they would close gaps and fill my mirrors.

That said, after my first session I got into a decent rhythm and grew in confidence. Before I knew it I was grinning ear-to-ear and thoroughly enjoying the track evening!

Weather wise, we couldn’t have asked for more. In fact I’d go as far as saying it was perfect! A beautiful sun-soaked Knockhill circuit that didn’t see a drop of rain the whole day.

Temperature over 20degrees, bone dry and sunshine. Heavenly.

And of course this created ideal conditions for the AD08Rs. Sticky and **** loads of grip to say the least!

The car itself was outstanding. I’m delighted with the EK9’s performance on track and like I’ve mentioned before it’s ridiculously fun to drive.

No track shots unfortunately, but some photos nonetheless. Photos courtesy of Jay-Sec Media where applicable.

Best day I’ve had with the EK9 thus far. Love it.

Nice post and some serious machinery out that day!

Two videos of the track evening below.

I took a few moments to stand at the pit wall and take in the sights and sounds of some truly awesome cars! In terms of best sounding, the Aston Martin Vantage and its NA V12 was unreal on the fly-by.

The car was given an oil service and brake fluid change in preparation for an upcoming trackday at Knockhill.

HKS Super Oil and ATE Type200 again.

Whilst it was up on a ramp it was also given fresh underseal.

Also fitted a 98 spec manifold which has made a good difference over the standard cast iron version. More noise and the engine feels a lot less restricted.

Hi Saqib
Nice update! Looking good as ever....
Interesting feedback on the manifold swap, I'm liking the idea!
Enjoy and take care...

Thoroughly enjoying mine too :))
