Sandwich take off and oil cooler question

I have decided that while I’m working on the car I would like to install an oil cooler along with oil temp ans pressure gauges.

I would like to ask the forum a few questions;

1/ Can I keep the current oil heat exchanger and mount a sandwich take off to it - for the 1/8 npt sensors and then an oil cooler sandwich take off to this for the thermostat take off for the cooler?

2/ Are there any issues with oil pressure losses after fitting an air to oil cooler that I need to consider?

3/ Any major differences between the major brands of cooler kits?

4/ Is there a better way for me to connect the oil senders to the engine other then via the additional sandwich plate ?

5/ 13 row matrix OK for the odd track days?

Thanks

So on my ek9 kswap. i still have the standard oil cooler still fitted. I also have one sandwhich plate which does my turbo feed, oil pressure, and oil temp. I also have another sandwhich plate that does my oil cooler to a 16 row oil cooler mounted to the front of the car.
I would say get a thermostatic sandwhich plate if you are going to run an oil cooler as this allows the oil temp to get to temp before it starts flowing.
If you get a standard sandwhich plate it will be contstantly flowing which may not allow you oil to get to the correct operating temps.
Iv done quite a few track days and never had a problem at all.
I use tegiwa sandwhich plate for my sensors and turbo feed. The Thermostatic sanwhich plate is by torques,
Any other questions give me a holla.

Thanks for the reply.
So, it’s great to know it’s not an issue to stack a couple of sandwich plates on top of the Std heat exchanger.

After looking at all the threads the issues I keep seeing with even thermostat oil coolers is that the amount of by pass oil that the system allows means that the oil takes ages to heat up.

The other issue being a drop in oil pressure with the addition of the cooler, what are your experiences re these?

Cheers

My oil pressure has always been fine with my set up. ive sent you a voicenote on whatsapp about thermostatic sandwhich plates

As an addition to this thread, I have now placed an order for the oil cooler for the EK9 and also on for the Peugeot 205 project that I’m working on.
After doing a lot of research I ordered the kits from Matt Lewis racing, they were great for advise and were the most competitive on pricing that I found, I can highly recommend giving them a look;
