Looking to swap my gasket. Is it a simple unbolt the rocker cover pull it off swap gasket put back on job? Or do I need to do something else to stop internals moving? And os there a torque for the bolts or just 'tight'?

Any help would be great

Be careful with the nuts as the studs are easily snapped. Other than that it's really simple.

So it is as simple as unbolt, swap, bolt back on?

take spark plug cover off, remove spark plugs. then undo the nuts holding the cam cover on. It would be worth your while replacing the ring gaskets for the spark plug holes as well. give the surface were the gasket goes a good clean so that it seals good and avoids oil weeping out. Just be careful when tightening up the nuts as the bolts are prone to snapping...

Just do them by hand gently wrist tight. Then a little nip. Like spark plugs for example.

7.2ft-lbs.
In star sequence.

More or less hand tight.

What do you mean by this diagram??? Cross tighten the bolts I'm guessing? And 7.2ft lbs is a definite?

The diagram represents the order in which you tighten them. If you look at a honda manual it states 7.2ft-lb for a b16.

Sorry to Hijack.....would the torque sequence be the same for a b18c6 as am planning to do the same also. How hard is it to change gaskets for the spark plug holes? Is any sealant required when doing this?

Same sequence for b18.
Spark plug seals are very easy to change, a small drop of hondabond/rtv on seal where it meets inside of head wont do any harm, if you are doing rocker gasket you gonna put sealant on that anyway on the corners etc.

I stock oem full rocker cover kits if you need one for b18.

Is sealant a must? I'm doing the swap this weekend.

If so can you get it from a Honda dealership/halfrouds, etc?

I didn't when I put new gaskets on, I just gave both surfaces a real good clean and wiped with degreaser so the surfaces where mint. Shouldn't leak when it's torqued down.

That was my plan. Always worth a check. Cheers
