robthedoc's ek9 turbo, adventures in boost!


Sick hahaha thats wayyyy tooo much power for a front wheel drive car but id say its funny blowin past ppl on the motorway :lol:.

Delighted u got what u wanted an i hope it goes great for ya an be careful with all that power. :drive:
But by god use it all hahaha :beer:

Tbh I've been running about with the boost solenoid off and at 340 it's bat sh*t crazy. I had one shot on the bypass with it on when the road was dry ish.... I've had a few fast cars in my time but nothing even comes close. But aye I'm very happy with it mate. Big smiles when driving it.
 
The 340 buzz soon wears off bud. Hense my new parts and Nicole going in for more boost...
But I'd say 500 should keep you going lol
 
It's doing fine for now in the snow lol but yeah I know what you mean, doesn't take long to get comfortable wielding the power...
 
I was thinking afew days ago about the power to weight of a 480hp ek9(new turbos max according to Garrett)
Would come very close to the same hp/ton as the original Bugatti veyron....
When you lay it out like that it's not really surprising your cars as fast as it is lol
 
Taking it to Crail, Knockhill at any point in the better weather months?
 
It'll maybe see knockhill, no really a fan of crail mate too cold and it's not like it used to be back in the day. I'll maybe run it down santa pod if I'm there at any point but I don't want to blow it up as its my daily lol

Ek9.org meet, may be able to set up alittle battle with some Vauxhall owners aswell...

Vauxhalls... lol

I'll no doubt get my ass handed back to me by a 2.0 turbo nova... albeit a 2.0 k20 :lol:

Cheers mate! I'm not that fussy where it is as long as it gets there and all the way home this time lol. Looks like it's going to be decent turn out again though!

Yeah I'm a member of a group on Facebook for the 2.0L turbo engine in the astras. I get some stick for driving a Honda but most of them are decent enough.

I shouldn't really give them stick. I was almost a Vauxhall master tech in my younger days. All goes back to being very young and being firmly on the mk2 xr2 side of the Ford v Vauxhall gangland style beef that was going on at the time lol.

I was on the mk2 xr2 side also, ended up building a 2ltr Zetec xr2 with twin 45's to battle the 2.0 corsa's and nova's, good for doing big wheel spins
