My AC pump is now redundant and soon to be removed, does anyone make a kit to relocate the alternator to the AC location at the front of the engine?

I want to free up space at the back to check the possibility of a custom charger install. :)

Very nice. You sound like the man to give it a shot!!

What charger are you thinking of using? Or is that top secret still?

Haha, cheers! I have looked into it previously, the guys who will be giving me a hand with it have done a few Eaton M45 charged MX5s, they are adamant that the M45 Eaton will be fine but I did the maths and checked the compressor maps and they are seriously inefficient at the revs a B16 manages, so it will be an M62. I would prefer a twin screw Lysholm but so far as I know they are unavailable in CCW rotation.

I could just bolt on a JRSC and be done with it, and to be honest if a SH one comes up for sale I probably will, but they are a rare find and I like the idea of running the system through a proper FMIC where the AC radiator currently sits.

It's all just in the planning stages right now, but obviously the first hurdle was to make sure I could make space for one! :nice:

I'm intrigued! Sounds like a good plan.. If you do do it, be sure to get plenty of pictures! :)
