So I’ve read that I should use a OEM Honda release bearing when doing my clutch.
The clutch kit I bought comes with a Koyo made in Japan bearing

now my question is... do Koyo make the Honda bearing?
Like is this Koyo one I have the very same as a Honda OEM one just in a Koyo box?

Did you buy an Exedy clutch kit out of interest? I replaced a used exedy kit in my car (well just rel bearing as clutch was in good condition) and the release bearing had like a shoddy plastic part of the housing and didn’t feel like it had taken the miles well in general with the slop in it. Although bearing still sounded okay.

The OEM Honda item felt higher quality. This is just my experience with them and have always been under the impression that OEM is best here.

Can’t comment on Koyo off the top of my head but I know FCC make the oem clutch kits.

EDIT! Looks like oem part is made by Nachi Japan.

It is the FCC OEM kit, the release bearing came with it mate, I got it from Jap Service Parts.
The confusing part is on the receipt it is the OEM Honda part number, but it’s in a Koyo bag and box

I’ll have to inspect it and compare against an original Honda one, see if I can see any differences
