Just wondering if anyone has any advice on the easiest way to do this before i do it, as it looks to be a pain to change.

Thanks.

i'm about to change, well put inserts in mine, on saturday.

I'm planning to take pics and make a guide. so if you can wait i'll see if i can give a step by step.

But from previous one i've done it wasn't too bad, forgot how i did it tho

easiest way is to unbolt the big bolt that goes through the mount, then unbolt the hinge from the back of the engine that fixes the engine to the mount

the hinge off the back of the engine, theres not enough room to remove it (also part of the engine loom is clipped into this, be worth unclipping as not to damage the loom) but lifting it up gives you enough room to wiggle the mount free once you've undone the 4 14mm socket head bolts that hold the mount down

Done my rear engine mount twice now, once fitting spoon mounts and another to fit the innovative ones, tbh there is no EASY way to fit, but from both times thats been the easiest

Worst part is loosening the 3 14mm bolts and then when fitting getting them up to a high enough torque

its a basard very tight.when you have all the bolts loosened off get someone to pull rhe engine forward for you while you jiggle it out, saves a bit of sweating trying to do that part alone.i put the engine on a jack when i did mine and loosened off the timing belt side mount also, gave me a bit more room.

Thanks lads,i'll have a look at at it tmw and see how i get on.

Looking forward to a write up on this, have had a set of innovative mounts sitting in my shed for ages now, but not enough time to commit to the job!

Hopefully a write up will give me a better idea of how much time i'll need!

i have just done mine and found it was easier to take the inlet mani off
Gave me alot more room

Did this mount today,Steven's method of removing the bolts leaving the L shaped bracket loose is what worked for me,didnt have to remove anything else other than the airbox pipe for access to the mount, was easier than i thought it would be.
also had a look at my torque mounts and they are knackered .

Just FYI my innovative mounts are sagging. There is about a 1/8 - 1/4 inch gap where the urethane has been impressioned by the engine torque. It's been about 9 months. I'm picking up a set of hard rubber mounts to prevent this problem from happening again.

Sorry to throw this a bit off topic, but has anyone used RS Race Series mountings? Was going to get that set, what would be the best rear mounting to get?

Hi there im thinking of doing mine today (inserts) did the engine move in some way as i dont have a jack to support the engine just in case i need to line the holes up also which ones are your torque one and where because i think the one at the bottom front of the gearbox is fu**ed thanks

they offer lifetime gurantee so get in contact with them to see if there customer service is any good, theres design aspect on pass side mount i didnt like with my set but only time will tell

keep us updated on what they say and pics, doesnt sound good

I think I'm going to get ahold of them. I didn't know about the lifetime guarantee. That is pretty freakin cool!
