rear anti roll bar

Hi huys, if the rear anti roll bar on an ek9 is 22mm, would the best upgrade be 24mm? cheers
 
i might track it mate. ive never been on track before but the ek9 might tempt me.

ill probally be using it more for fast road use.
 
The 22mm is more than up to the job, but the 24mm adjustable ones are good too. Why do you want to upgrade?
 
iirc if you install a bigger rear arb the back end is more prone to step out, if you track the car then it might be better, but for road use id keep standard one on. if you want to imrpoove handling, get some better tyres, and maybe some coilovers, something that isnt that harsh/stiff,then a nice fast road set up :)

thrust me a tail happy FF car is not what u want.
get a good set of coils,adjustable front camber kit/ or adj. pillow mounts.
imo keep the rear camper close to 0.

Not sure TBH, the tyre is well out of it's optimum running it at 0° static. I run around 1° (stock) and could really do with increasing the rear some more to match the front 2.5° at the front as the back is a bit too lively with the 24mm bar.

Pillow mounts are pointless on our cars.
 
im hopefully picking my new car up on saturday, its got tein coilovers but dont know which ones. im just looking into options on how to get the best handling out of it

but i've ran -2 up front and -1 rear ,stock front and rear and ad07

If it has Superstreets, the first call would be to junk them. You need to drive the thing for a few weeks first, figure out what it does well and what it's not so great at then try and figure out how to tweak it to your preferences.

Reducing the camber to 0 will only make the rear end looser. As stock our cars run more rear camber than front, if you want to maintain that balance you should take note and work from that, I will be taking the rear to -2° to balance mine out. Are you sure there wasn't any other issues, toe, worn RTAs etc?
 
thanks mate, ive heard bad things about teins to be honest. i asked what type they were and he didnt know. id like to sell them either way and get some ohlins. ive had naff coilovers before and heard nothing but good things about the ohlins. pricey but you get what you pay for

hey Kozy, so you run -2.5dgrees on the front? what kind of drop do you have? just curious. I'd like to experiment with camber next year on the track. I've always kept my alignment close to factory specs with about a 1.5" drop. I'm sure that's not optimized for track, but for daily drive it's nice to get good wear on the tires :)

What is the ek9 front sway bar size? I know that what you get in the rear is also dependant on the front. I used a 24mm front sway bar with 22 rear last year and it was pretty nice. Canadian SiR is about 26mm front sway bar.
 
I run 24mm front 22mm rear an its very neutral, also spring rates effect this, i use 440lb front 250lb rear, my advise is get a good set of street tires (not too sticky) an have fun, get used to how the car slides, etc...

Yea -2.5° up front, hardly any drop it seems, maybe .5" max:

(Check out the cobwebs and tango discs... yea, it's been used a lot recently. Need to get it in that garage.)

That's not massively aggressive TBH, unless you do a lot of motorway miles it shouldn't wear the tyres that badly, it's the toe that is the real tyre killer, if you have that in check then you can get away with a fair amount of negative camber. For a track only car you can take it further, Steven runs -4° on his track car and get even wear.

EK9 front bar is 26mm. Yes it does kinda depend on the front bar, but also the spring rates. It all adds up into one single roll stiffness distribution number*, which is the one you need to pay attention to. The tyre doesn't know or care about where the load comes from, only how much of it there is. ;)

(*If anyone's interested, I can give them a reasonably accurate idea of this number if they give me specs.)
