Race car finally out of Hibernation

Your vtec point looks to be about 5600/5700 rpm, looks like the spoon ecus may switch too early ?

vtec at 5500, any lower it put a big hole in the torque!

every engine is different, steve and ramsys cars are set a bit lower than mine

suits me though, means i can squeeze just under 80 in 5th before vtec

Very true, it all depends on the modifications and how the car responds, Henry finds the most effective vtec point for the car/setup and mine is also set at basically 5500RPM. Makes a nice change from waiting around until 6k with the OEM ECU

The extra midrange with Henrys map is improved so much and this is where the B16b lacked before :D and it pulls hard right up to 9k

Ummmm, been getting a couple of jobs sorted for Germany

Front calipers were off at the weekend and cleaned up about the pistons etc

Front tow strap fitted and rear tow eye painted

Just needs a full service with fluids changed and brakes bled

Also have acquired a B18C6 block and 96 spec cylinder head. Got some Endyn cams/toda cam gears/supertech valve guides so far

Head is getting dropped off at CNC heads on the way to germany and the crank at vibrationfree :nice:

Picked the car up today

before

186.3bhp @ 8171rpm
117.5lbft @ 7959rpm

after

204.4bhp @ 8299rpm
127.2lbft @ 7969rpm

About 20bhp up @ 6k, an increase of about 10-15bhp everywhere else! Similar torque wise, increase of roughly 10-20lbft throughout

Feels super responsive and smooth, pulls really hard!! Henry Roy is the man :nice:

...now those are some very good gains!

Nice feature Steven!

Oil and gas industry as a design engineer, same as me then! :nice:

Cheers!

Be on the bread and water for a couple weeks, just ordered a full set of new tyres, A048 Yokohamas :nerv:

Always good to have a nose at the ol' EK9 forum!

How did you get on with the fuel pump in the end..? Just a note with the voltages problems - myself and most of the people on MLR forum with the Evo's tend to hardwire the fuel pumps in so that the voltage doesnt drop affecting fuel supply, maybe worth looking into if its a problem thats occurred since fitting the pump!

Anyway - what weight is this beast nowa-days? :naughty:

As always - thanks for sharing,

Josh..
