R1PPU's EJ9 Build Up

Nice one man! Great read, quality friends you have there. Glad you eventually got your b series
Good work on all the painting too!

Wooo, I still need a shot in this, I miss vtec ha

Haha hopefully it'll give you the kick up the arse to buy a DC2! :p

Great story and read man! It would not be worth it without all the hassle haha We all remember our first taste of vtec in our car , looks so fresh in there good job on cleaning up the bay aswell

Thanks man! Yeah was hassle but so good now :)

I literally turned up, got drunk, bumped into things then left I deserve no thanks lol

Hahaha cheered us up along the way! And made sure we weren't doing the swap in the rain, I want a ramp now haha

Nice work guys!
Ek9.org is strong up in Scotland obviously.

This is why you lot need to come up ;)

That was a hell of a weekend, a lot of work but it was good to have friends there and have a laugh along the way!
More than happy to have spent the time sorting things out for the swap, it was partly my idea in the first place after all!

Glad the issues are almost all ironed out now and that vtec etc is working as it should! I definitely want a shot

I'll get the videos uploaded later on today hopefully!

Yeah awesome weekend! Bet you're regretting it now :p

I think you deffo deserve a shot haha. Need to see how it sounds from the outside thats what started all this after all haha. Ah man the vids are so cringey haha

I want a shot Rippu... been ages since I drove a B powered Honda

Haha your EK9 will live again soon though ;)

Cheers man, aye they're all legends! 5 years later, its B powered haha

Bit late but here's the videos!

This one is from the first start up attempt, nice to have it start up first turn of the key

And here is the first vtec after the initial fault finding. Only part throttle with a massive exhaust blow so doesn't sound as awesome as it should, that'll be sorted very soon though!

As you can see... We had a happy Rippu both times!

I've thrown my hands up like that soooo many times.
Epic to see another petrol head doing the same thing! The joy/relief is something else isn't it lol

Nice one mate, now the tuning will begin and never end.
Now we are ready for cho cho!

Haha diff first! I've learned very quickly that grip out of corners is a much bigger issue on full throttle than it was with the D14 haha.

Haha yeah, was nice to see it fire up after all the time we'd all spent working on it! And the first VTEC was fun :D

Happy for you Rippu, bet you're enjoying it!

Need to catch up again next year once the weather picks up.

Bswaps are so 2010

Good effort guys! well done and finally!

Cheers dude :)

Yeah its so much fun man! Shame the weather sucks, turns out rain, spec 2's and 2nd gear don't work so well together...

Yeah for sure man!

Got this pic the the other night :)

Still got code 9 flashing up, tried another dizzy yesterday and it didnt make a difference. I think next port of call is to start running individual wires from the ECU... Can wait til after uni clears up a bit though!

Just read the engine swap section. You have some great friends.

How you finding B series life?

They are awesome :nice:

Its good! I've noticed I'm a lot more paranoid about this engine though, may get some gauges at some point just to keep an eye on everything in more detail. Having that extra power and torque increase low down in the revs makes the car so much nicer to drive daily!

Also here's a flyby from the other night...

And it's officially winter, the gear nob hat has been put to use!

Haha lad!
You did it the right way round really didn't you.
Sort the chassis and everything first then start the power.
You'll be surprised how quickly you get used to it though.

Wow the engine conversion,
Thats what its all about! Getting a few good mates over and working on your car!
Nothing better

Yeah always said I'd rather sort the chassis out first, just didn't realise the power bit would come so soon haha!

Power is more than enough for now, who know's what will happen in the future ;)

Love this!

Awesome write up for the swap - what a mega group of guys! :)

Thanks Nicole :) Aye they're all awesome, was a sick weekend!

Yeah was awesome, such a good weekend! My mate might be buying a DC2 shell soon so hopefully gonna have a repeat getting that built up!

For gauges I would invest in water (stock one is rubbish!), Oil pressure and oil temp that's really all you need to monitor.

Keep an eye on the oil too.
