Project milano red dc2

Fu#King insane build, fair play every detail of it.

Did a turbo conversion before, I used no water lines ive seen it done a few times and it never caused a problem, a lot of diesel engines dont use water lines for reliability reasons or whatever, aswell i had a s13 with a bb turbo in for work, and it too has the water lines blocked in the block and no water going to or from the turbo and its been a drift car for 3-4 years now, its just some thought

Don't listen to this....

Don't listen to this....

lol I've heard/read that some people choose not water cool their BB turbo's if it causes them no problems then fine :nice:

BUT I WILL be water cooling mine as advised by Garrett and the turbo fanatics out there, it serves a purpose and has been designed for a very good reason :)

worth priming these garret turbos with oil befor you fire the engine up for the 1st time,
just unplug the leads and turn the car over for a few seconds to get the oil through the line and into the turbo.

Cheers bud good thought :nice:

No major updates, I have been mocking up the oil/water lines.... looks like they need shortening?

Ignore the alternator, rocker cover and any other messy bits... still on the to-do list :)

Does anyone know where these go on the skunk2 manifold? are they essential?

Fitted near the TB on the stock B18C4 inlet manifold

Yeah you may want to shorten those lines a bit. Other than that they're OK.

Cheers mate :nice:

The water lines especially are way too long, I guess too much is better then too little; I'll get them shortened a little anyway

I was thinking of maybe using a 90degree fitting for the oil feed on the turbo side, what do you reckon?

It's actually fairly straight forward where everything goes, I guess the real test will be mounting the intercooler and piping (I hope they fit!)

I finally got around to tackling the wiring both interior and exterior, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be; I won't get my hopes up just yet until I test everything to ensure it works!

Next job is to hopefully put the dash in and plug the rest of the wiring in so that I could test the lights etc all work, then put the interior back together, I can't wait to see the back of this job!

Here's a few shots of the wire tuck which is now done, again just need to test everything works!

That's all for now folks

Massive relief! I mocked up the dash and plugged all the wiring up so that I could test everything works ie lights etc

She is alive!.............. well kind of [:p]

The wiring was holding me back quite a bit, so hopefully we should be seeing a lot more progress.

Wings and bumper back on

Next on the to-do list is to put the interior back in, then drop the engine in... exciting times!

Thanks guys.... Yeh Rich just need to get the hours in mate... How you getting on with yours?

Got a couple of hours in after work today

Sorted out some more wiring (tidying up really) and got the dash in

Hasn't been washed for a good few weeks now!

Thanks for scraping my bumper dad! Lucky for me I was going to get it resprayed anyway

After a quick wash

**Updates**

I'll start with the issues i've run into first

Snapped one of the exhaust manifold studs, this is proving a real bitch to get out

Just when I thought I had the wiring all sorted, I was wrong! the left side indicator doesn't work with the switch, however it works fine when hazard switch is on and when I press the alarm fob. I've checked the relay, fuses which were all fine... so i'm tracing the wiring back

Because I changed the prop valve to a non-abs one, one of the lines didn't fit into the master cylinder.. so I got some braided ones made, they seem to be a little bit too long so I may take them back and get them made slightly shorter.

HEL braided brake lines fitted

Innovative mounts test fit

Subframe rigid collars fitted

Was going to fit the front ARB but the ARB bush mount didn't fit!

Thought i'd see what the TE37's would look like

I'll be getting them refurbed, once I find out who can match the bronze colour
