Hello all. My names Abdul. I’ve been on this forum a while now mainly ghosting about on how to’s and checking out other builds.
I bought my ek9 around 2017 as a b20 frank conversion. I have now stripped all that and gone boost with a b18 built by @robthedoc. The plan is full restore so follow this thread. May need some help and guidance along the way.

Currently it’s in the body shop. I’m having the full front end resprayed. So everything’s out. Fuel/brake lines, wiring. Took off all the old seam sealer. Had it tiger sealed.
I took off the old under seal and I’ve had it stonechipped. Using the tetrodyl stone chip.
Will upload previous pics later when I sort my phone out.

Anyone got an idea where the traction bar bracket goes. I can’t seem to figure it out. There’s only one hole on the control arm but 2 required. Any one know how to…

Think its the holes lined up with the bolt in your second photo there. At least thats where we connected some angle brackets for ours on the race civic

It’s a 2 bolt bracket. There’s suppose to be another there but I think there on non type r models from what I’ve gathered. I might just chop the end off and run it like that with one bolt. Surely that’s how ppl must’ve done it on type r models?

Traction bars are made for dc2/ eg / mb / delsol lower arms from what i have noticed.

as they have the 2 bolts that are required for the traction bar bracket to bolt to.

I have a traction bar on my ek9 but i have dc2 subframe installed.
im not to sure if this requires normal ek subframe to be run with dc2 etc lower arms.

Thanks for the replies.
I think your right for the one I have. Il need dc2 LCA.
However I’ve done some digging and found full race do one with a one bolt u bracket. So I’ve ordered a bracket and gonna see how it goes.

Got my bits back from the platers. I’ve had all my brackets and bolts stripped wire wheeled and dipped in zinc.

Tank looks great!

Forgot to mention what Vish said, we have dc2 LCA on the car

Thanks for the comments guys.
So… I’ve made abit more progress. Been making the most out of the good weather we’ve been having.
Had a few rusty spots on the floor pan. Welded few pieces and put some Fertan rust converter over the lot. Thereafter put a coat of epoxy primer and tetrosyl seam sealer. Doing an original nh0 coat once this dries.

Progress update

Whilst the engine was out I took time to redo the lines. I started by installing a chase bays and delete brake tuck kit.

I also remade the wiring looms for the car. I stripped off all the old conduit and tape that was on the looms and rebraided it with heat resistant split braid. I used the split braid so I didn’t have to depin the connectors. I then added yellow labels on all connectors. Rywire style. Fixed a few faults along the way in the loom. Very happy with the result

Once that was done I needed a cluster for my gauges. I seen a design online and liked it so I designed it on freecad and had a mate 3d print the design. Once that was done I put in some switched for oil cooler fan intercooler fan and intercooler spray with relay.

Man, that's one awesome rebuild project! Hopefully, we could make a deal Civic Type R Ek9 project we're looking at. It's a 3 hours drive from here. Got to finish installing the brake pads, exhaust, and method wheels on the truck this week so can take a closer look at it this weekend.

Update:
Heres a little update of my build. Ive made my mind up about the traction bar issue and decided to go eg/dc subframe.
Heres the subframe iv bought. Ive had it powder coated gloss white and zinced all the bolts. I tiger sealed the seams on the subframe to stop moisture being trapped in between. Ive also bought new hardrace tubular lca, hardrace 26mm arb with bushes, and new tie rods and bushes for the powersteering. Ready to go on soon.
