Hi guys

I'm needing to stock up on some polishes/waxes as the stuff I have just now has just about run out.
I've currently got Meguiars gold class wax and Poorboys black hole glaze. I've been looking at Dodo Juice stuff, specificaly the Orange Crush and Purple Haze Pro waxes as they seem to get good reviews on Detailing World. Just wondering if anyone has any recommenations on whats best for dark coloured cars

The car is a Nighthawk Black EK

Cheers:nice:

You will get best results from the work prior to the waxing stage.

Generally find that Menzerna P085 followed by BlackHole Glaze and some Dodo Supernatural will give a good reflective/ metallic shine on black. I used the P085 and DDSN on my mums old black CLK and it looked great. Il see if I can find any pictures.

Cheers guys, I'll have a look at those and get some stuff ordered :nice:

Poorboys black hole glaze & dodo juice purple haze wax FTW.

I use the opposite products for my Ek9 and they are top notch.

I also have myself an account on www.cleanyourcar.com and I buy all my cleaning products from there, top site and super fast delivery.

3m ultrafina is the best iv used polish wise, you can count the hairs in your nose from the reflection

I'll check out that site, cheers!

I take it you can apply the 3m stuff by hand? For some reason I had it in my head that they only made stuff to use with a machine polisher

Best used by machine. Its a polish compound.

Black hole is one of better glazes for black cars.
Also purple crush is also designed for dark cars should get the best results possible with that lot by hand.

If machine then yeah the correction work is what makes the finish.
Like everything its all in the prep.

By hand i would say this.

You want to strip all previous products off.
Rinse, snowfoam with apc mix. Wash.
De tar, clay. Iron x.
Paint cleaner. Dodo juice lime prime is good.
Glaze.
Wax.

Thanks again guys, I should have said in my original post that I'd be applying everything by hand

That list sounds like a good plan of attack to me, the cars currently getting bits painted and the rest machine polished so this is more to keep the fresh paint as good as possible

I'll have a look at that link just now Aleex, thanks

Meguires (sp?) is the best hand polish i have used, the "ultimate compound" brought my yellow ek9 up nicely!

For a black car i would recommend a sealant over a wax. The sealant gives the car mirror like finish where as a wax the more wet look.

More stuff than you will ever need to keep it looking fresh :)
