pdapaul's YellowSpeed Time Attack EKK24 on ITBS

This will be awesome, or even more awesome I should say.

nice work at rockingham!
Bet you can't wait to try the car with some grunt behind it!

Cheers guys :)
I can't wait to give it a blast boosted!! Quite a few more upgrades as well, with chassis, tyres and a few other bits. Hopefully it will get me a little closer to the leading pack

As my choice of tyres for next year has been narrowed down it looks like I'll be going for a 225/50/15 (would have preferred a 45)
I've bought a test tyre and they are BIIG!!!!!!

These pictures are a quick test fit. Both front and rear arches are already rolled and they still won't give enough clearance. The larger tyre also raises the car by approx 15mm and I was looking to lower it from last season so that's not an option.

Back to the drawing board (and eBay :))

In preparation for the charger fitting I've installed a swirl pot and fresh fuel lines from the tank. Had a nice little mounting plate to protect it from underneath.

Started getting to work modifying the arches to fit the 225/50's. The front arches were just about touching the tyres, so the needed quite a lot removed. So I've trimmed away the excess, and then folded the new line up on itself to give it some strength

Now to add some flares. I can't decide which to use. I've either made a flare that goes all the way round the front, which hopefully will deflect the air around the large tyres.

Or a half flare which just conforms to regs reference seeing the tyre from above.

It will all be colour co-ordinated yellow, so should look cool either way, but would be interested to hear people's thoughts on the benefits of the full flare

Full flare IMO.
Air catching a rolling wheel creates a lot of drag and lift, Although the effect is probably minimum in this case that's not really the point of time attack is it? Lol
