Passenger footwell leak. But with added ants!!! wtf!

If it's any help, I had similar problem when I first got my EM1 (minus the ants), turned out it was the connection where the sunroof drainage hose became disconnected from where it connects to the outlet. It literally just sits inside it and gravity over the years has made it disconnect. I Managed to diagnose this by pouring water down sunroof hole and finding it running down the foot well behind the ECU instead of running outside behind wheel like it normally should.
It's located up above the ECU at about the same height of the cable entry for door but much more towards the front of the car. Due to the blower unit being in the way it's not accessible from glove compartment, only way of doing it is to squeeze you hands up the gap above the ecu , and it is a very tight one between the outside wall and blower unit :angry2:.(moving the ecu will help get better access angles) Job is a big ballache and requires alot of patience due to lack of space plus you've going to have to work by touch as it's impossible to see up there, only way managed to see what i was doing was to point phone up there and take a pic. Just a case of pushing it back in and tieing something round it so it says clamped this time, I used a tie wrap. If you need a reference, the drivers side one is much easier to access, its behind the ABS unit.

Found up a pic, note the camera is sitting on top of ECU looking up.

Ok so i killed off the ants, And i checked the sunroof drainage. Poured some water down and it came right out of the arch so doesnt appear to be a blockage there at all. Where else should i look? Heres some pics when i peeled the carpet back and tried to look up by the ECU. Cant see where the water is dripping down from to be honest.

Have you tried the scuttle panel? The black plastic bit where your windscreen wipers are? Mine had a decent size puddle when I bought it and it was seeping past the scuttle and dripping into the footwell.

Get a friend to pour water onto the left side of the windscreen from the top, while you watch from the footwell to see if you ca spot it dripping or running in.

Ok thanks will check that. Did you need to re-do Seam seal? Or how did it fix?

a few more pics of where it was raining today. Just saw where the water is dripping down. if anyone can pinpoint? ~

Any leak pro's on here care to enlighten me on the situation? its been pissing down for days now and its really getting me down. I dont know if i can afford a trip to hond-r.

i just dont know where to take it, definatley seems like its coming from behind the dash.

Still need this sorted, Anyone have reccomendations? its either i have a go at it myself, or take it to hond-r and pay £300 for leak fixed and aircon removal id prefer to save my money. Anyone have expierence doing this themselve?

I have the same issue...my EK doesnt have in a sun roof and the leak seams to be coming into the fan motor.....so im hoping i dont have to take back out my dash cause i had it out to repaint. I will lift up the liner by the wipers and check all under there b4 i take out the dash and see how it goes. Will post pics if i find anything useful.

Shame your too far as I could have gave a hand and sorted it with your self as its half a days job.

Nontheless its not too difficult to sort out tbh

Did you have any luck fixing this anto? I have the same problem and looking for where to start.?
