I was wondering if any one could help us. The trim that runs along the bottom of the door and body of the car and the side skirts, are they held on with screws or clips?? If its clips, what is the best way to remove it?? and when painting what is the best way to get great results?? Should I wet-sand the trim first?? Thanks Joe.

To take them off properly you will have to remove the door card to get them off same with the other ones and get your self plastic primer and then paint it with an halford aerosol obviously your cars paint code. Bit vague but an idea

Why do I have to remove the door card?? Is the screws holding the exterior door trim on??

Basically the clips are very tightly on and if you pull the plastic moulding you mite deform its shape

what about the trim on the quarters? would i have to remove the whole plastic pannel from inside? or should i just mask up the area around the strip on the quarters and spray them on the car?

if you want to do it properly and one time , them you have to remove them

as mentioned before you will need to remove the panels to get access to the trim screws

Just run your fingers along the edge and see what is holding it in. Usually wee pins so basically rip them off, carefully though. Rear trims have seatbelt bolts holding them also and wee screws. Easy to spot if you just look around. Use Satan black vinyl dye paint. It's really good stuff :) good luck

Why not vinyl wrap them? Buy some good quality vinyl and it should be pretty easy.

If you try to remove them without removing the interior panels you WILL snap something.

If they are in good condition just key the existing paint with 600-800 grit and spray over it, I'd only plastic prime if it was bare plastic. Once they are in place they don't flew anyway unlike bumpers etc.
