Hello everyone,

First off I do apologize if this has been covered a hundred times before, I've been searching on here for the past hour but have not come up with anything 100% conclusive.

I've just picked up an EK9 / UK DC2 five stud hub conversion, with brakes. Obviously I have also got myself a 1" master cylinder and servo from an EK9 so I don't have any excessive pedal travel when I come to fit the bigger brakes.

The final part that I'm stuck with though is the brake proportioning valve, from searching on here I believe the EK9 has a 40/40 PV?

The hubs are all from an ABS model Type R and will be going on my Civic Jordan, which too has ABS and rear disc brakes as standard. So would I be right in saying that my Jordan is likely to have the 40/40 proportioning valve as standard too due to the fact that it comes with rear discs as standard, and that I'd only need to source and fit an EK9 40/40 PV if my car was being converted from drums to discs on the rear, such as on a lower spec EJ/EK Civic?

Any help really is appreciated, even if it's as much as 'yeah, you're right'.

Thanks a lot.

Harv

I thought the 40/40 was the non abs prop valve?
I did have an ek9 valve from when I swapped my 9 to non abs. Doubt I've still got it though.

40/40 is definitely a non ABS valve, whether the ABS valve in your Jordan is the same as in EK9 I don't know...

Thanks for the replies guys.

Well that throws everything I thought I knew about proportioning valves out of the window! I'll have to have another look into what prob valve an ABS equipped EK9 has, along with what my Jordan has and see if they are the same.

Thanks :)
