hey guys i like to ask now in my b18c i m running a 6 pad sprung ACT 1 , and b16 flywheel ( dont ask about the flywheel it was already on when i took the engine) i ll replace the flywheel with an OEM DC2 or if i cannot find any at the market i ll buy an steerlight ACT flywheel but my question is that if any one have any opinion about these 2 clutches that i like ? should i put oem DC2 or ACT 1 organic sprung?
also i like to ask what difference have the OEM clutches b16/ b18

I just got done building a B18C1 power train with an Exedy 9 lb flywheel and a Honda factory Integra Type R clutch set up, mated to a JDM 4.7 trans. The clutch feels awesome- good for daily driving, but still has good "feed back", grips well, and has the Honda reliability built into it. Take a look at you flywheel next time your there- In America it seems most B18c, B18B, and B16A's all have a "P30" stamped flywheel- Although there is rumors of a lighter Type R fly wheel that came out over seas.
Are you running a stock set up? or are you running a turbo? I think the stage one is "equal" to the OEM Type R set up....Supposedly.

no turbo , just all motor stuff , at the moment i have 4.9 fd i dont think an very light flywheel will help , it will be too much , and as i check around the net also i found threads that the jdm b18c has lighter flywheel at about 6.3 kg than b16/gsr flywheel 8.2 kg, maybe the organic act 1 is equal to oem but maybe has some difference in the material thats why i ask !!!! , also there is a thread here that all ppl say that the clutch is different from b16 to b18

4.9 should be fun! I thought about the lighter Type R flywheel due to the R+D that Honda put into it. I found it very difficult to source one that didn't have the "P30" stamp in America- So I went another route. I would easily assume the B16 vs B18 do have some different part numbers- my guy at Honda said the part number for the Integra Type R clutch disc is the same for a Prelude model- I went with a Type R set up in my GSR thinking it was the best Honda had. And I'm a sucker for that H badge.

hmmm , well today my guy brings me stuff from tegiwa suggest me the RPC flywheel that is 4.4 , sounds good i dont want too light like fidanza but even a 4.4 flywheel will be good for me ? i dont do racing now anymore , only daily driving and some nights every week i go out and i just speed alone on the high way , i was wondering if a 4.4 kg flywheel will be good , also he told me that by tegiwa all oem clutches for be series are the same with no difference , i m confused :/

I believe that all the Hydro B series clutches are interchangeable. But just because they all fit, doesn't mean they all have the same part number. Just like all Hydro B flywheels are interchangeable, but they aren't all the same.
I would imagine the slightly lighter Type R flywheel would have great feed back for daily driven with spirited runs. Its not too light where you'll need to play with the trottle to keep the RPM's up between shifting---- Fly wheel weight=the speed at which it slows the engine VS the amount of time it takes you to shift is the equation.
So I guess the question is how fast are you planning on doing most of your shifting? Every driver is different.

yeah generally in shifting i suck a lot , imagine i went to dragster i made 14.8 and my mechanic took my car and made 14.0 :D , thats why i didnt want too much light flywheel i dont expect when i sprint night time to make very good shifting but generally to make it worse for me .yeah all are interchangeable but in another thread here in ek9 they were many ppl say here that the dc2 clutch is the best http://www.ek9.org/index.php?threads/best-clutch-for-b-series.35505/page-2 if u read specially page 2 they same , oem dc2 clutch , why they say oem dc2 and not just oem b series ?!?!

OEM B series all have different assorted parts in their kits. The B16 has less torque and there for doesn't need as strong of a pressure plate. The Type R "kit" has the most clamping force from the pressure plate that you can buy from Honda ( Integra Type R has the most HP). There may also be a difference in how they make the clutch material, stiffer springs, etc...And if its got "Honda" writen on it, you know how its made- with quality.

yeah understood correct !!!! , btw if i change flywheel do i need to weight balance the crankshaft ?

The the crank shaft assembly should already be balanced to the rotating assembly of the engine from the factory. The fly wheel should be independently balanced to it self, so it doesn't off set the already balanced rotating mass of the engine. Long story short, no you don't need to balance the fly wheel to the crank- just get a quality flywheel that is already balanced and you should be good to go.
