So most of you will probably recognise this car.. :D
I was after a mint example of a black ek9, and after aa lot of hunting I've finally got one! For the age of it, I'm pretty happy, although there's a few things I want to sort straight away!

so spec:-
1997 Black ek9
Meister R Zeta S coilovers
5zigen Pro racer exhuast
ITR airbox
and that seems to be about it, a fairly nice unmolested example :)

It's off to the bodyshop hopefully next week, both bumpers need a respray and there's a fair few marks/chips on and around the doors when someones tried to break in. Also a few scratches but the car's covered in swirls, so hopefully they'll machine out when I get the DA on her!
The wiring also seems to have been played with in the past and it got through and MOT with the ABS bulb taken out, but I want to get that sorted out rather than ignore it really. I'm also finding the passenger door a bit touchy to unlock so will have to look into that too!

Short term plans, source another set of alloys, purchase some good rubber and get it out asap on track.
Long term... we'll see how I get on with it, I'm honestly missing my other car! but K swapping sounds fun.. :drive:

some pics with my other car, they'd covered 1300 miles between them that weekend so they're both filthy! Sax had just done a track day too and I think I might have upset my handbrake, not sure why her arse is in the air!haha

and a few shamelessly stolen ones from a previous owner as I haven't had a chance to get any yet :(

Hi Nicole, Welcome along.

Nice to see you've found a great example for yourself.

Sounds like your going to make the most of owning a nine :nice:

Aww what, I wish I never sold this car, genuinely miss it

What's up with the wiring? Abs was working fine after I done the wire tuck on it

Frodo's old car! Seem's like the guy you bought it from didn't really take care of it... He didn't have it very long either! Frodo cleaned it after every drive, the paint was immaculate when he had it. It had a new clutch under his ownership too, just before he sold it.

That's my EJ9 in the background of the last pic too. Here's some more pics of it from when it was up here :nice:

I remember there was an issue with the alarm, when the car was running and the door was closed, you couldn't get in from the outside, just keep that in mind if you're ever out the car while its turned on.

Loved this car when he had it haha.

Nice ek9 you got, the 2nd last pic is screensaver material :D

Those bottom pics were the ones I took, best car shots I've ever taken were of this car

very nice ek9, think I have a few piks of this with my eg6 when i was perving on it at knockhill

sure I have more somewhere

Just amazing!
Can i get some high definition version of this pics ? To put in the Wall of my shop?

I was going to view this one before my friends (local) came up for sale.

I'm glad you didnt haha, theres one for sale in Ireland atm, but other than that, black ones seem rare as hell! :D

thought id ask in my thread too..

Fuel gauge -
Is there a fuel light on an ek9 or just the dial?
My fuel gauge seems a little off, but I'm not sure whats the norm on these.
With the car off, the needle sits at 1/4, I'm guessing it should show as empty?
I was going to just take the clocks out and see if the needle is sticking, but if not - any ideas?

Also, how big is the fuel tank?
It's showing almost empty and I'm only getting about £40 a time in??
How many miles roughly to people get to a tank so I have an idea when I'm running low if my fuel gauge is playing up?

Clutch Pedal -
My clutch pedal is ridiculously high. My knee is pretty much in the dash at biting point and I was wondering if there was any way of adjusting this down?
Also are they any guides on bleeding the clutch/adjusting the pedal?
Or could anyone tell me in detail how to do this?

I'm glad too! Got a facelift with a huge list of Spoon/5Zigen parts for less than the black one ;)

However, have fun - looks nice!

Nice, black looks well on a 9.
Wouldnt worry about abs, just have the whole lot out and enjoy the extra control of the brakes on track!
Fuel tanks are small but not any smaller than a saxo, perhaps you've got an iffy gauge or sender in the tank?
Iirc the clutch pedal has an adjustment bolt above the pedal. Play with that and it should lower the biting point.

Modifications usually de-value a car :secret:

High biting point usually means worn out clutch. I don't think you can adjust the biting point of a hydraulic clutch.

There is a fuel light. The tank is 45 liters, so you should get about £60 in there give or take.
