1998 Civic DX hb
Well it’s been about 17 years since my last Honda project, and I’m back from the dead and starting a new build. Back in 2009 I (formerly 96dx-r) built a mild ek coupe with a b16b. Ended up selling it a few years later and got busy with life. I decided last year I’d like to build a track/road racing car. And so it has finally began. I recently found a 1998 Civic DX hatchback that will be my blank slate for this project. It was a one owner car that is 100% stock.

The plan is a typical k24/k20 engine, and full suspension. I had already acquired the k24 long block and a PRB head before I found the car so I had a head start on that. Block should be back from 4piston sometime in the next few weeks.

K24 block with OEM crank, wiseco 12.5:1 pistons, Callies comp star H beam rods and a ported type s oil pump.

PRB head will be sent off to 4piston this month and will get their 156v2 port job. I already have some Supertech springs, ferrea valves (1mm oversized intake) and initially it will have some drag cartel 2.2 cams, although I’m sure I won’t stick with these cams for too long. Also for a starting point I will be using a clipped RBC intake manifold that is port matched to a 72mm k tuned TB.

Still in the process of sourcing a transmission, and trying to figure out my suspension setup. This build won’t be anything mind blowing I’m sure but I’m excited to get it started and will keep things updated here, along with pictures. Glad to be back!!!
