I'm wanting to relocate my fuel filter out the way, but I dont want a major overhaul of my fuel lines to go braided or anything

A friend of mine has his relocating to his subframe using the existing hardline, and a rubber hose.
like so..

I just wanted some feedback/opinions on this setup? He has no problems, but im sceptical about having it like that on my car. I still have my existing hardline in, and as I understand it they cant be re-flared?
does anyone have any ideas of any sort of fittings etc I could use for a similar setup that will give me a bit more reassurance, or would this be sufficient?

as much as I want it to look good, the car has to perform faultlessly too..

Personally I think your just asking for trouble, your not gaining anything from moving it.
Got a lot more to lose should the line split or even just seep.

I was thinking of relocated mine , but did not want leaks or pipe popping off. Cause a DNF in Racing

I thought about this, But decided to leave it alone as I didn't want any problems down the line.

I may have found a solution!

I might email and ask for more info, but this looks like a promising solution :)
I dont want the risk of leaking lines/fires either, hence trying to find a better way of doing it, I do want the car to be how I want it though, and it includes having a tidy bay aswell as being fit for purpose :)

Does anyone know what max fuel pressure I'd expect to see on a turbo build to the fuel filter?

With that fitting you will need to check it often; religiously. Because when it fails; fire. so you might also want to invest into a fire suppression system.

Pretty sure the pressure would be the same as it would stock?

That's what I thought as it's set by the fpr? Just wanted to check
Earls said that'd be fine up to 50psi, it's that or try get a 37 degree flare kit to redo the original or get weld on fittings :/

There is defo a recent thread on here about this. Someone asked and I'm sure some saying 45psi and others saying 60psi.
Can't remember which was true in the end, if either lol

Ye you need a proper inline filter kit with decent fittings, i wouldnt try and relocate the standard filter setup.

I dont want an inline filter really
Not doing it to be cheap either, I want it tucked, but tucked properly and safely
If my fuel pressure is under 50psi I'm happy to try the earls fitting - the standard set up is just a bit of hose clamped on to the hardline anyway

Just out of curiosity, why do you think the original hard line can't be re-flared? It's going to be difficult due to size and material, but I just can't see how it would be impossible?

Yeh, I guess more that its really really difficult than impossible - but I wasnt sure if it was possible.
I know no one with the right degree flare kit either, I have the 45 brake line one, I really dont wanna buy the 37 degree one though just to use once (then find I cant even physically do it lol)

Sounds like the earls kit is your only option then really?
You don't want inline, your friends way is abit sketchy and your not sure if a reflare job is even possible.
Suck it and see tbh.

sounds like it doesn't it Jesse haha, I just wanted some reassurance :( hopefully I dont blow the car up!
