My EK9.... take 2

Got fed up of full on N1 noise so opted for a Spoon street back box

I'd rather be deafened by the noise than run that tailpipe :eew:

I'll be curious as to how you like the sound of the street back system. Obviously it will be quite the difference from the N1 but how about compared to other "normal" street systems? Supposedly it's one of the quietest and better sounding options. I've thought of replacing my old and kind of beat up RS*R Concept exhaust with one.

It’s all a but subjective but I’ll give you my take on it, bare in mind I’m still running the Mugen cold air intake, Spoon throttle body, Spoon 421 into Spoon B pipe with a baffled de-cat

compared to the N1 back box, it’s night and day in terms of volume and note.
The N1 was just plain loud then when it hit vtec it just got even louder, didn’t change note at all and droned a little on the motorway if it was under load.
The Street box is only a little louder than a stock box but the noise is much deeper, not raspy like a N1. It transforms when you hit vtec, goes up in volume and changes note, doesn’t sound to aggressive on overrun like the N1 would.

The street box reminds me a lot of a Mugen Twinloop, it’s like the best of both worlds,
nice quiet deep tone at low revs, open it up a bit and it sounds a bit racey

I appreciate the reply and detailed information. Subjective of course but great to hear. I actually prefer the more "refined" systems like that. My Rs*R is definitely within that group as well. It still sounds great but is unfortunately looking a bit worse for wear.
Btw, I'm also running the Mugen cold air intake, and a 5Zigen 421 into a Rs*R (I think) B pipe. So not too dissimilar to your setup. I still have stock cat and throttle body though.... for now.

be interested in how you get on with the spoon street, i heard reports back in the day that the internal baffeling would break down after about 10k miles. No idea how true it is but put me off getting one given the cost, even if I love the sound

Looks nice standard looking ,Did you buy it from a UK seller ? If so what company?

Yeah I had one years ago which the baffles failed on, but after doing a bit of homework, I found out that problem was with the earlier ones that didn't come with the plaque
