Fast forward to April 2019
Gave her a good clean, a full service and a decent blast before dropping her off for it’s MOT

Passed first attempt not even an advisory, happy days. I guess the old Forte petrol cleaner and get it hot technique works a treat

So I’d obviously started buying bits to put on while it had been tucked up over the winter, it started with the interior, the spoiler and the rear plate recess

This is how it looked when I got it

I’m not as slim as I used to be so the OEM Recaro’s are a little tight so I got myself a pair of JDM EP3 Recaro’s to replace them. They are mounted on DC2 rails which have been professionally welded/re drilled to fit the EK bolts holes.
DC2 rails sit over an inch lower than the EK9 rails which makes up for the EP3 seats sitting a little higher than the OEM’s. I I do love the look of the red Recaro interior so this was the best compromise for me

At the same I fitted a Spoon steering wheel/hub, a Seibon carbon fibre centre console (a one off piece), brand new leather gaiter, Alex Motorsport titanium gear knob and last but not least a FD2 shift boot collar (no more saggy/rattly gaiter ring)
if you look close you can see the tinted blue Spoon glass on the side mirrors

Next up it was the spoiler and plate recess.
One of the tabs was broken on the recess it came with so I bought an I damaged one an had it sprayed to match.
The original one

The newly painted one

Next up was the spoiler. Genuine Spoon

Then there was a show at the end of April at Knockhill... so I got her cleaned up and took her up for my first decent drive in it

Where can I get one of those gear knobs?

Nice one mate, looks very similar to the now discontinued spoon Titanium gear knob

exactly why I bought it mate, couldn’t find a spoon one anywhere, I did have a comparison picture somewhere, it’s the closest thing I could find.
Although the Spoon one is ultra lightweight but the Alex is weighted like a skunk2 knob

That's sick haha !! Spoon one is slightly shorter tho

But I'm going to look in to it!

I've been looking at the FEEL'S Honda Twincam Titanium gear knobs , which is a Matt sort of finish, but looks pretty big in pics , but I'm in 2 minds

I know the one you mean mate, really nice finish on it but like you said looks a bit beefy.... I’ve seen a j’s racing in the flesh and it looked sweet

Fantastic looking car, looks like you’ve got really stuck in with the modifications. Looks like you’ve got Spoon addiction ;)

This car is a credit to you mate Looks great! I am set for JDM EP3 seats for similar reasons to you

This is a fantastic build and a great read you have documented it so well! Keep up the good work, some great choice of parts on such a Stunning car

What a difference, car is revving much more freely, it’s easier to keep it in Vtec and it doesn’t bog down as much when your shifting from third to forth

chuffed!
