I had no intention of getting it out again until the April. That was until my mate called and asked if I was ready for mapping. His BDC car had a slot booked at his mapper but his car was currently sitting in bits.

I had told him about a week earlier my plans were to get her Hondata’d upped and mapped. It was just a plan for the future but he literally thought I was good to go...

so anyways I had 5 days to get a P28 and s300 if I wanted to take the slot that he couldn’t make.
Me being me the most impatient man in the world I took it as a challenge :)

I got straight on the phone to Johnny Tegiwa to see what the script was... happy days 48 hours later it was in my hand

so a couple of days later it was off to the dyno/tuning shop. The place was over 40 mile away and it was November so the trailer was summoned again :p
Was hoping for a nice dry drive up but who am I kidding. This is Scotland remember :(

First time she’d seen any rain but least it wasn’t on the salty roads

so onto the dyno... I was kinda nervous after the previous rolling road day results (175bhp)

I wanted to see how the OEM and Spoon ecu were performing so I had a power run in both before we got onto mapping the Hondata. I was so surprised to see that the OEM actually had more peak power than the Spoon.

she got put back on the trailer then back to my garage until I got it out again at the start of April this year

Where did you get the bonnet stay from mate? Always wanted a new 1 mines peeling

Over the winter the car sat in the garage I ran it upto temperature every 10 days or so and couldn’t wait for April to come basically.
On warm up it would run kinda rough but it was fine as soon as it started to come up to temperature,
I put it down to the cold map settings of the Hondata.

April... got her out, gave her a good wash
FACDAEDA-C81C-47A2-B2C8-CC7CA3595921.jpeg

noticed that the kinda rough idle was more like a hunting idle now. I had cleaned out the IACV and renewed the gasket but it had obviously gave up over the winter.
I ordered a new one along with a new Denso map sensor and a new Honda IAT sensor.
As a consequence of running her upto temperature over the winter and the IACV being guffed, it had managed to foul the set of plugs....

So back into the garage to get all that sorted
