My EK9 RX

Very clean and nice mate! Cleaner than some examples I see in Japan even. Would you be able to post up photos of your interior? Perhaps the door panels?

So I finally decided to have a go at fitting my spoon rear strut brace. Wanted the cut outs to look as subtle and OEM as possible so took my time and had the panels in and out a few times.

Found it pretty difficult to find any decent reference points to take measurements etc which resulted in my first attempt at cutting being slightly out so I had to extend the holes which was slightly annoying.
Pretty pleased with the end result and the only minor issue is the left hole is very slightly higher than the right but I may extend them at some point in the future to get them absolutely perfect.

Comments welcome...

Cheers

Thats an awesome job with cutting the plastics, what did you use to cover the cut lines? That looks so professional, Ive seen some right bodges where it looks like they have taken a chainsaw to them. Thats looks the best Ive seen. Tell us your secret mate!

X2

Did you just use tape or something to cover the edges once you had the holes cut?

Cheers man,

Nah I bought some rubber trim just to tidy up the edges and make it look a bit neater. Got the idea from another thread on here to be fair!

Haha nice one mate cheers for the comment.

Basically I just took my time and marked the holes out (Was a bit of a guesstimate). And used a drimmel to cut the actual holes and a file to tidy the edges. Once i had one side done i just copied this onto the other panel. It was a bit time consuming as i put the panels back in a few times to make sure it was all going to line up etc.

very nice clean 9 keep it up are you runnig standard lower control arm with the tein if so how do you find it as i got my with d2 lower control arm and the bushes seem to be geting tired so thinking of puting the standard one back on cheers

car is immaculate throughout man puts mine to shame , fancy coming round and giving mine a once over . thumbs up for the hard work .

Just read this from page 1, attention to detail is astonishing! massive thumps up from me mate.

Much more planned for it?

I really do want your car mate, this is the model that I would buy, hopefully get the money together one day. Even if I won the lottery, I would still buy this car. Lovely mate!

Right I finally decided to get my act together and give my build a bit of an update. Been quite a while since i last updated my thread so there has been a fair few changes made.

Starting off with the basics I got the cambelt done from Dunx @ FastJapCars. I also Gave the car an oil and filter change (I will be doing a full service very soon but have hardly put any miles on the car at all).

Current spec;

- Bride low position drivers seat rail
- Spoon intake elbow with custom cold air feed
- Spoon strut braces front and rear
- Tein flex coilovers with EDFC (EDFC not fitted yet)
- 5Zigen fireball exhasut system
- 5Zigen pro spec header 2.5” (Currently restoring so has not been fitted)
- JapShop 2.5” baffled De-Cat
- Clifford Avant Guard alarm system
- Volk Rays TE37’s (15x7 ET38)
- Rays center caps
- Fresh Toyo proxes T1R’s all round
- Wind deflectors (For some reason my car did not have these on when i bought it)
- Mugen number plate bolts
- Buddy club forged wheelnuts
- Fresh number plates (JDM size)

I have literally just taken the ‘Rays’ stickers off my wheels as several had started coming off and it looked a bit tatty however i will be replacing these with fresh ones soon.
Plans for the near future;

- Fit EDFC controller (I am just waiting to get some money togther to buy a single DIN head unit which will allow me to fit a ‘pocket’ below and mount the EDFC)

- Finish restoring manifold. Once i have finally finished this i will be fitting the manny with fresh gasket’s, bolts, nuts etc and the De-Cat)

- Give engine bay a thorough clean

I have tried to take as many picutres as possible to illustatre the above. Apologies for my poor photography skills;

I have spent a fair bit of time effort and money on her now but i have to say it is definately worth it! The car is so much more fun to drive now. The modding wont be stopping here!
