My EK coupe build up

Bit bored this evening so may aswell update this, even though nothing much has happened this year with the car!

Had a knock from the front when coming to a stop/pulling away earlier in the year, spent a while looking for it as there was no obvious issues with the car. Took a punt on the front bottom balljoints being the culprit, happy to say that fixed the problem, unhappy to say that my fancy Buddyclub extended balljoints only lasted about 3000 miles :(
Due to having the knock I was hesitant about taking it on track, as a result I've done no track days this year, need to change that next year!
Gave the car a machine polish before taking it down to Japfest2 at rockingham, the car definitely needed it!

Had a great time there, was good to meet a load of the guys off the forum! Was a bit of a nightmare on the journey down, thanks to a stone punching a hole in my radiator:(
Did venture out on track for 1 session, loved it!

Nice non sunroof shell which I have taken the roof off, so I'll finally get the roof sorted after far too long.

Will try and keep this updated as I have a few things I'm planning on doing over the winter as it's now off the road!

You've been to the midlands a lot this summer :p

Also that silver car coupe is awesome, it's helped all our cars!

Nice coupe bud, one of the nicest ive seen, not many prefacelift coupes around with b-series in them

gave me some much needed motivation to get back to work on mine too...

Really enjoyed going through you tread, love coupes as I have a black b series pre face myself and there a amazing car if built right ,very tight on the road,
All the best leej8,

Thanks guys! One of the things I like about the car is that there's doesn't seem that many about, makes it that wee bit different!

That looks good mate :nice: Is that a carbon bonnet yeah? Thinking of getting a carbon bonnet and possibly boot in the future

Yeah pal carbon bonnet and booth, looks good on black cars , the booth is much much liter then stock and bonnet too , all in all a great buy . Mirrors, grill, spliter ,and spoiler are also carbon.

Been a long time since I last updated this!
Not had a mad amount happen with the car, put it back on the road around April and took it to Crail to show it with the guys from Chasing7, nice to have the car on show

Made the most of using the car on nice days with friends, cause I never use the thing normally!
Got to June and I had to get the car prepped for a trackday at Croft. Ended up fitting 2 bottom balljoints in the last couple of days before the trackday as they suddenly started knocking really badly, proper stressed me out! Trackday was epic though, I'd fitted a set of AD08R's and tweaked the alignment, handled amazingly!

and a video from one of my sessions

Then had the car at the Scottish Car Show, brought the daily driver along too!

A week after that, some little bastards keyed the boot and rear quarter while the car sat outside my house:angry::angry::angry::angry2:

So in the process of getting that sorted out, my mates going to paint the rear quarter for me, and I've used this as a perfect excuse to get myself a carbon bootlid! Fitted that today, needs more adjustment to get it sitting right, but love how it looks!

Fair play if you've read all of that. I'll update this more often from now on:lol:

Those twats that keyed your car  some people! :slap:

Boot looks amazing mate! Plus croft was a cracking day car performed so well! Can't wait to get mine down there.

I know Pete, was absolutely fuming! Bit wary of leaving the car at my house now which is a horrible feeling.
Thanks Dean, was an awesome day! Need a track session with us all soon

Fuckers keying your car, some people have no respect! Bootlid looks class on it man.

I know man, absolute scumbags! Cheers! Need to get the plate recess carbon dipped to match, then sort my roof and try to get a carbon bonnet to match!

Low down Dirty pigs, that would piss me right off ,big style.
I would put a cover over it mate if it's not your daily.
Love the carbon boot ! Big difference in weight, specially when you get carbon bonnet also , car looks great !
I thinking of taking out my yellow spots ,as I like the way the front looks open and clean , preface FTW.

Not keen on the cover idea, it's in an open carpark so that would just draw more attention to the car I'd think!
Cheers man! The weight difference is crazy, what have you done on yours with the spring bars for the boot hinges? Was told to take them off cause they'll be too strong for the carbon boot, and could damage it when it opens. Don't wanna leave it with nothing though, it's already annoying holding the boot open haha

Haha yeah the boot did SPRING OPEN I'm trying to remember now ,
I didn't take my springs out , I moved the spring somehow and now the boot just slowly opens.
Leave that with me and I will have a look at what I did ,
I have that boot on 4 years now lol ,
And a car rear ended me and pushed my slam panel and boot right in , but when I opened the boot, it pop back to shape! Haha , so make sure you have a bumper bar fitted,
