My EK coupe build up

Just read over this, great build mate! some lovely mods and a lovely coupe you have, I love the rims! :) hopfully catch up wi you soon Steve! :) B18 powa FTW!

Cheers guys :)

almost finished bedding the engine in so will be able to use it properly soon! still isnt idling totally right, seems to have a vacuum leak but ive bought a new intake manifold gasket so im hoping thatll cure it

loving having it on the road again though:drive:

Wee bit of an update with this

Idle still isnt right, not bothered looking into it anymore at the moment.. just gonna live with it at the moment cause its not too bad now

Last weekend i swapped coilovers with my mate so its now got a set of J's Racing N1 coilovers on it... absolutly love them! Pretty ****ing harsh but it handles brilliantly now

Had it on track last night and it performed fantastically, pulls really well and handles well too... could have went so much harder if i had the confidence to. Think ill have to get some better tyres for the next time cos i felt the Paradas were struggling a wee bit

Unfortunatly the slave cylinder popped out the box about 10 mins from the end of the session stranding me on track:eek:
had a look after i got back to the pits and i found one of the bolts for the slave cylinder had fell out! must have forgotten to fully tighten it when i was building it, managed to get it back together but im gonna have a proper look at it as the clutch doesnt feel right and also seems to clunk when i depress the pedal.. so im not sure if anything has been damaged or not

hope so have it back on the road very soon though:drive:

Well its been a while since i last updated this!!

Following on from my last post..
After my track day and the clutch problem i looked into it more and found the spring on the clutch fork had popped off the ballstud in the box. So the box was removed and the fork/spring and release bearing were replaced, was all good after that!

I then took the car off the road for the winter and carried out some more work on it. Bought a set of Function7 LCAs and an EK9 rear ARB, Buddyclub dual bend shortshifter and Moroso baffled sump along with a fair few service/boring bits

Also fitted a Password JDM 3 point front strut brace and a H brace, dont have pics of these though

Car was then sent for a respray around the start of April to tidy it up, got an EK9 grill, EK9 replica rear lip fitted at the same time and got the plastics colourcoded.. looks fantastic now!! Really happy with how its looking now
Also made a bit of progress with the idle problem.. its now running on a UK ITR ECU and its not quite as bad now, not 100% though so still needs some more investigation

Plans for the rest of the year are.. get sensors so i can get my Defi guages fitted, get a fixed bucket seat + harness, and possibly a rollcage + mapping over the winter... and also getting the idle perfect!

Heres a couple of pics of how it stands now

Thanks guys! Next stage is just using it, done about 250 miles his year!

Was bored this evening so gave the car a polish and went for some pics, although I had my camera on the wrong setting so pretty much all the pics came out crap

Heres a few I managed to salvage

Just been enjoying the car since I've had it back on the road. Booked onto the Trackscotland track night on the 20th of August, early birthday present from my parents!:))
Hopefully gonna get the sensors bought for my Defi gauges this week so I can get them fitted for the tracknight, also considering getting a harness before then too. Really looking forward to it!

May aswell give this another update, always seem to neglect it!

Was at Knockhill on track at the end of August, had an awesome time! Car performed really well and I was beginning to gain a lot more confidence by the end of the session... think the track bug has bitten though as I left with a list of things I want for the car thats as long as my arm

Since then I've just been trying to keep it as clean and tidy as possible, was at a photoshoot with jdmy0 (my local forum) and a few pics were taken of the car

Started buying parts for it again too. The evening of the photoshoot I picked up a set of sensors for my Defi's, along with a Greddy sandwich plate which means thats my gauges ready to be fitted
Also picked up a Recaro SPG at the weekend, was recovered recently so is mint! Just gotta get the rail modified as its for an EG then get a harness and fit that too

Probably will end up putting it off the road at the end of the month so the spending will begin again!

Car has come a very long way! Great build! Looks great man!

Well seeing as the weather has started to turn crappy I reckon that'll be the car off the road till next year :(
Bought a Recaro SPG with a Buddyclub rail a few weeks ago, the rail is for an EG so my mate is gonna modify it this week for me. Also got an oil sandwich plate including temp + pressure sensors, just waiting on getting a coolant temp sensor then I'll be able to fit my Defi's too:D

Only other real plans for the moment are to paint the rear interior to tidy it up a bit, and finally get this idle problem sorted! Although that list will probably grow over the winter

Anyway heres a few photos I've taken of the car recently to leave you with
