Hey dudes,

Thought i best post up the first few pics i'd taken, need some so i can remember what it looked like when i bought it as hopefully over the next few months it'll be changing. :D

Went to collect it on Thursday, had it 4 hours before all the lights went out mid corner in the darkness :nono: after a inspection found out that some monkey had scotch locked a wire from one headlight to the other so they were bridged and running off the same circuit. :angry2: After a bit of re-wiring and replacing the fuse i literally melted in half, i was back in business :D and, touch wood, trouble free for now.

Anyways, i said i was going to go and say some pics after work and my chick tagged along in her polo.

Pics:

Pretty clean starting base, the inside is immaculate, the outside has a few minor dints and scratches, but most cars of this year do.

Plans are:

A lip kit, type R rear and undecided front. Any ideas?
Either EK Vti wheels or the 4x100 16" EP type R lookalikes.
Get lows

When my bank stops being utter **** ups i'll be buying some chooonz, but that's all i'm sure of so far. Got a few other ideas running around my head, completely open to suggestions and if you've got anything to sell me, all you've got to do is ask, the worst i can say is "No thanks" lol

Opinions? :D

Looks good what plans you got for the ej9? You gonna do a ek9 rep-ish look to her or mugen style or... looks clean, good find :)

Cheers guys, don't really have major plans, just the obvious and will buy parts when the cheap/right parts come along :D

Small update really, was at college on wednesday and had a chance to use the workshop. Which was a good and bad day for the car...

Good stuff:

Front mudflaps, dirty but fitted.

2011-03-23130934.jpg

Me and another lad from college got to work on taking the front bumper off, had a badgless grill to fit and i've always hated those crappy ass number plate holders Honda fit so whipped that off too.

Dirty i know, but its polished up now, will be getting filled and sprayed when my new plates arrive ^_^

The bad i was on about:

These are my fuel lines, this car supposedly "passed" an MOT a fortnight ago before i bought it.
2011-03-23140154.jpg

As well as this the RHF lower ball joint is hanging out, this weekend i'll be replacing fuel lines and doing the ball joint.

Then eventually, out came the spending :D

Love them or hate them, dont really care. They were cheap. Tires arriving tomorrow.
2011-03-23205033.jpg

Coilovers have been ordered and should be here Tuesday/Wednesday. At which point they'll be getting dropped to their lowest setting and the wheels fitted :D

Getting there :D

Thanks buddy, as you wish :)

Not much has changed to be honest but i want to make a habit of updating with pics weekly cos i hate these long ass build ups where someone takes 2months and posts a picture of it cleaned and nothings changed.

So, as i was saying, i did intend to wait til the coilovers arrived to fit my wheels, but got a bit excited and they were taking up too much room sitting round so got to work on getting the tires fitted and then the wheels.

Frightening ride height i know, but the coilovers were meant to have arrived today and didn't. Annoyed.

When it comes to being at college i do little to no work, not that i'm a slacker, they just give us **** all to do. I'm finished all my work til July, which thankfully leaves more time for looking about forums and tinkering with our own cars. Got it in today to do the following:

Badgeless grill off and masked.

2011-03-30122905.jpg

First layer of primer, which was a first for me as i'd never seen clear primer, this stuff had like a silver sparkle in it, which was gay, but there you go.

2011-03-30122706.jpg

Rolled around on our dinner break grill-less while it dried.

2011-03-30123601.jpg

Got back, got it sprayed and fitted, Then gave it a wash. (The stickers are off my tires, didnt have a bin handy when it came to fitting them so banged them on lol

Wheels suit it ok in my opinion, just need some lows in m life then it'll be looking good. Just have to play the waiting game now. :(

Now, regarding the coilovers.

This is a email conversation between me and the company i purchased them from:

Me My coilovers still haven't arrived.

They were due to be here two days ago, any ideas where they are or when they'll be here?

Thanks.

Them They should be with you; I'll track it in the morning and let you know.
Cheers

Me - After he didnt "let me know." I know they should be, they still aren't and you didn't get back to me like you said you would.

Is there a chance they'll be delivered on a saturday or will i have to wait until Monday now?

Them Hi there,
Ok, spoke to the factory; the kit was sent out and should have been with you middle of last week. However the parcel was returned to them as they had got the address details wrong. Its entirely their fault, they asked me to pass on their sincere apologies, and by way of compensation they have thrown in some goodies (don't know what they are though!). The parcel has been resent and should be with you by wednesday.
Again, please accept our apologies, I know you were in a hurry for this kit.
Best regards.

I know their free stuff will most likely be a sticker lol but at last, we're getting somewhere.

Small update:

When i bought the car, i was shocked to lift to the bonnet and find so much dirt. Not oil from leaks, just general muck, clearly it'd never been cleaned since new. I know it's pointless trying to performance enhance a 1.4, there'll be no Max Power air filter going on, if i put an exhaust which i'm still undecided about, it'll just be a back box. Touching under the bonnet will make my insurance rocket which i'm not prepared to do for the sake of getting a few extra bhp out of it. Plans are to maintain the engine, keep it running so it see's me through to the point where i can either B or K series it, or get RWD. This doesn't mean i can clean it up though, stupidly i for got to take a pre-pressure washed picture of the engine bay, but it was ****ing goppin', trust me. Happy with the results, looking back i wish i'd sprayed the heat shield grey as apposed to silver, but meh. Stage one of engine clean up - complete.

C&C Welcome

Been a while, copy and pasted from another forum so it might not make sense, but you get the idea:

Heres a few camera pics til i charge up the Olympus and get some decent ones:

Got started pretty early yesterday morning after the coilovers taking 3 weeks to arrive :(

2011-04-16102216.jpg

Got that balljoint changed that i'd told you about, dunno if anyones changed these before? but what a **** on. Can only use a press up until a point because of the arm on the hub itself, nightmare. Got it done though, eventually.

2011-04-16125919.jpg

Didn't really take any pics in between, was too busy/dirty. All the LCA bolts came out straight away, nice easy job, just time consuming. Started off as i meant to go on, on the lowest setting. But after snapping both my genuine Honda mudflaps coming off the lift ,then realising i couldn't even turn the wheel around once without it catching on the arches, i took it for a quick spin out off childishness and then raised it around 2cm. Although this still catches on full lock, bottoms out over every bump and scrapes over every crest on the road. If Mint has taught me anything, it's not to be a pussy and just leave it low. lol

Before i heightened it:

2011-04-16141832.jpg

2011-04-16135006.jpg

Then heightened and for all you JDM whores... it's a funny feeling having a internationally known drift car completely sideways, pouring smoke out the rear tyres in your rear view mirror, on private roads of course.

2011-04-16161215.jpg

Decent pics tonight. C&CC welcome.

Copied and pasted from JDMtas.com

Oh. Also, some of you will have noticed the import front plate. I work at a Land Rover specialist and was ratching through the parts counter for ages to find these:

2011-04-16112535.jpg

Plugs those crappy holes in the bumper til i get it smoothed and sprayed. :D

Another update from my "busy" day at college today:

Got my rear plate recess out, i'm still keeping an eye out for a USDM recess, but i thought the rear of the car was letting the rest down so did this for as long as it takes to find one.

Primered:

2011-04-27114452.jpg

While i was waiting for the primer to dry, i went to the vending machine for food. Put my 60p in and pressed 15 for a 'Boost' bar, and there was 3 thuds.Triple drop win:

2011-04-27125413.jpg

Painted silver:

2011-04-27125206.jpg

Lacquered and fitted:

2011-04-27140407.jpg

Had no number plate tape handy so note the make shift fitting til i got home to fit it properly:

In between waiting for paint to dry, i got some spoiler tilt, wasn't entirely sure his is what i wanted but now it's done i love it ^_^

2011-04-27123736.jpg

Then a photo of the back done with my mates learner sign on the top, number plate fitted too :D

2011-04-27200019.jpg

Those of you who know these will have realised i've debadged the back too but didnt see the point of taking pictures of it.

Dunno what to do next now, hit a low moneys patch lol

C&CC Welcome.

Thanks boys.

I'm really not sure about colour coding, i've seen a few done and it looks awesome and others done and it looks wick. Maybe someone could photoshop some colour coding for me? One with it all colour coded and one with everything but the rubstrips? Major love for whoever does :D

Started my bay clean up, removed the rusty ass old bolts and replaced them with gold ones and washers.

2011-04-28135538.jpg

Will be starting to replace earth wires with new colourful items this week, today i'll be sanding back the slam panel and other areas i can get to and removing the rust then giving them a coat of silver. Most likely giving my headlight brackets a good clean and possibly a paint too.

Also, got my wiper off the back, never used it and a few days ago used that "rainex" (or whatever its called) stuff on my rear window and can't see ever having to use it so off it came. The hole is just covered with a round silver sticker at them minute but will be getting a bung put it shortly then welded, smoothed and painted when i decide on a colour to fully respray it with.

2011-04-28135600.jpg

As always, C&CC welcome. :D

I've seen one with just the wing mirrors and door handles done, i think i'm going to go for that to be honest dude.

Anyways, feel like its been ages since an update and i apologise for it:

Trying to remember where i last was, feels like so much has happened although i know it hasn't lol

Last time you saw it, it'll have looked like this:

2011-04-29191943.jpg

Since then, i've colour coded the wing mirrors:

P5140951.jpg

Fitted a new backbox:

2011-05-12202532.jpg

Nothing special just a universal (yeah, as in they universally fit **** all) one.

...and had a little bit of attention in the engine bay, which involved taking off any visible brackets and painting them gold, as well as taking the bolts out the top passenger side wing and hiding the piping for the washer jets inside and then hidden in the bonnet itself too. Don't have any pictures of this because there's hardly anything noticeable to be honest, bit of a waste of time but there you go.

Oh, seeing as it's pointless having the rear jet, i've repositioned that to the tiny little gap between the headlight and grill because something i hate so much is people wandering in front of my car whilst i'm in traffic in town. People are slowly learning not too as they end up with wet legs haha :D

Now you may be wondering why in the first picture one of my wheels is rested against the car...

I was invited to be on stand at Fastlane Car Show on Sunday just gone, at Corbridge, Northumberland. Pretty happy with myself, the night before, i (with help of my girlfriend and her little brother) polished the car up real good, every spoke on the wheels, tyre blackener all round (and inside the arches) every panel polished, every window cleaned inside and out, back to black on the bumpstrips, side skirts, door handles, door pillars, interior cleaned...the lot.

It was looking immaculate. So I got myself out of bed on Sunday morning, walking towards the car i couldn't help but smile at the cleanest it had ever been - even as it started to rain on the way there, i was still happy with it. That was until i under steered massively on a corner, locked up and hit the curb doing 30mph pretty much straight on, ended up on the curb and came to a stop on a road sign :(

Slammed it into reverse in a bad mood (with myself) and dragged it off the curb, no surprises it was a struggle getting off the curb as i can barely do speed bumps, moved forwards just to get myself out of peoples way. The car felt fine, no steering to one side, no wobbles or vibrations. I thought i'd gotten away with it, i got out, drivers side wheel was fine, front bumper where i'd come to a stop on a sign - fine. Got to the passenger side....:

P5140937.jpg

Cue the "Rota - Because real rims are expensive sign" lol :p

New one will be on in roughly a fortnight, tyre is fine...amazingly, didn't even deflate.

So i limped it home and changed it for one of the standard 14" alloys it i bought it on.

Tonight though, i took it to work so i could get it up on the lifts to check for any proper damage, which thank ****, there wasn't any. I took the opportunity to raise it again, i think after this it'll be sitting at around -75mm and fit the standard wheels until my new Rota arrives. So it's currently sitting like this: ( Sorry for the phone quality pic )

2011-05-16211829.jpg

I've ordered some paint for them, not saying what colour, but pics will be up after me and my chick paint them on Wednesday.

I got a few pics of the show, here's the ones with mine in:

Right, well a new Rota is getting ordered on Tuesday when i get paid. Managed to find it almost £30 cheaper than that £160 quoted above too ^_^

Painted my mad tyte JDM OEM BBQ ASL? wheels the other day:

Something i've always wanted to do, happy i've done it, but even happier i only have to live with it for about a week lol

C&CC Welcome :)

Nice post, but got one question.
How did you fix your rusty fuel rails, or how you gonna do it? Mines are in the same shitty condition and i'm here with no idea how to change or fix it.

Hey,

I'm yet to do it actually, I think I'm going to wait til i get a beaks tie bar, ASR brace and some LCA's because if i remember rightly, you have to take the fuel tank out to renew the lines anyway and it'll free up a whole lot of space to do everything. I'll get some pics when I do it for you, see if it'll help...or if you do it first, could you get me some pics so I know what I'm up against? lol

Sorry I didn't answer but i was busy. Yes I will make some photos and post the method if I do it before you :) actually I'm planning to do it at the next oil change period, it is 10k kms from here. So about september or october. Yes you have to take out the tank, I just don't know what should I use as new fuel lines. Some told me brake lines are just fine. But I'm really clueless.

Must admit, i forgot about this. Sorry :( lol

Here's my latest update from another forum:

(Sorry in advance for the mixture of phone and Olympus spec pics)

As some of you will know it was my birthday a while back, due to delivery companies being **** ups, it meant i got 2 late birthday presents :)

TRS Tow strap:

Which instead of fitting out the grill as usual, i put a slot in my bumper:

I also splashed out on some new front tyres before i got myself, or worse, someone else killed with my front budgets:

2011-09-13183319.jpg

Last saturday i hit a rabbit doing 80 (on my private dual carriageway that is an exact replica of the A69), thought nothing of it but an hour later realised my front splitter was gone :( went looking for it but found nothing. The next day i was driving to Newcastle with my girlfriend and spotted it wrapped around a barrier on the side of the road, i stopped in the nearest parking area and started walking to it - 15 minutes later i was back with a beat up splitter, although still in one bit. So that has been off and fully repainted:

Making good use of my home made BBQ you'll have noticed haha

That looks mental mate, very original...to be honest I was expecting not too like it when I saw the red paint..but I actually do haha. Nice job mate.

By the way I know I'm going back a bit here but, how did you find pressure washing your engine bay? any tips mate; looking into this myself. :p

Cheers mate, it's actually flourescent pink :) haha

It's easy enough, just (if possible) don't have the power on full blast. Be sure to spend as little time as possible around the fuse box etc (i just did it with a sponge, but don't panic if it gets wet while you're doing the rest). Other than that i had no problems :)

Nice build up! :)

The front lip looks savage! Not many lips like that around! haha
