we all know that honda have bumped up the price of the on ek9 headlight at £500 a pair, even people selling second hand ones are taking the mick with the price.

so heres my attempt at making my own ek9 style headlights.

all it cost me was £12 for paint and clear coat.
£30 for heat gun which i will return.
£5 for clear silicone sealent.

heres the end result.

Would you say its an "easy" job ??? did you sand down the original "chrome" first?

Nice job on them:nice: what is the name/type of colour used?

it would have been an easier job if i had an oven, i had to use a hear gun to sofen the glue and that took time. when you put it back together it won't be nice as tight as it was before, this is when you have to use sealent to prevent condensation.

be care when using the heat gun and not to over heat a section as it could melt.

i didnt sand down the crome, just cleaned it and a few coats of primer.

loving it! Nice little mod there.

thanks dan the man.

i used rover gunmetal from halfords.

any sign of them fogging up with you at all?
i did mine before, but after a few weeks they were fogging up every day.
what type of sealant did you use?

no condesation yet, its not been raining, will report when it does rain.
went for a £5 car wash the other and no leaks. so far so good.
just some clear sealant from tesco.

my friend frank did the same thing to his si and he used hot glue as a sealent and he has not had any problems so far and its been like 4 months :D

I was always scared to do mine before i did it.. So glad i did end up doing it though as its such a good moda for the appearance of the front end for such little money and just a bit of elbow grease

Its looks unreal well done man :) i am scared to do mine for the reason i am terrified of condensation :(

Good work they look perfect and the choice of colour is spot on unlike some people who just paint them black inside:angry2:
