My 98 CW EK9

As mentioned I purchased a set of spare dc2 alloys and a set of R888. The alloys were in a sorry state so I made an attempt to give them a refurb. Being that they will be used as a spare set for any track work in got stuck in without any fear.

Acid Dipped and Powerwashed to remove old paint & crud:

Etch Primed:

Couple of coats of NH-0:

Coat of Lacquer:

Just hope my wheel man doesn’t scrape these when fitting the R888’s!

Im quite pleased with the results!

^ haha, no problem Ally. Turned out well for the time/effort i put in. Covered in dust from tracknight.

R888's made a massive difference to the way the car performed around KH!

Kind of prefer the dc2 alloys on the 9 in the picture from tracknight.

Cheers. The wheels were done with a spray booth at my dads garage. Bought some NH-0 paint and put it through the gun.

back on knockhill? nice. better the second time?

Yeah back on for a second time. Loved it! Suspension set to hardest setting and the R888 helped I think.

Brother took a video, I love the noise of the N1...never had the chance to hear the car on full chat from the outside.

Yup dc2 alloys look best on an ek9...not tht i am being biased!!! Lol good job Ross ;) cars lookimg great!

Not much updates of late, however had my ek9 alloys refurbished so are now mint.

The car was up at Knockhill last weekend for Scottish Japfest as part of the “Paul J Smith Photography” stand. Im glad to say that “we” won the Best Stand on the day.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to be in attendance, so thank you to Paul for taking my car up.

Some pictures from the day (all images courtesy of Paul @ Paul J Smith Photography):

Bought myself a Personal Grinta 330mm Wheel. Its great, and has such a nice feel when driving.

I need to get some sort of spacer so I can fit the horn button however.

New wheel looks sick. How come you cant fit the horn button though? Iv never had any hassle with that with diff steering wheels, but I normally patch having the horn at all haha.

Car looks mega clean as always in those pics ^^

Cheers man. The centre button/horn dosent fit in the hole of the boss kit...you can see the slight lip. Not really a major issue for me atm however. Need to get a fixed bucket next i think.

Been a while since any real update. (not that there has been much)

Got rid of the Spoon N1 as it was starting to annoy me. Managed to get a very clean Twinloop back on the car and im more than happy with it.

Have some Meister R coilovers and some new Skunk 2 LCA to fit in the coming weeks.

Had the car at Scottish Car Show so as usual the car had some tlc prior. I forgot how well CW comes up from some polish and glaze.

Freshened up the rear interior also, it was starting to get a bit messy as some water was getting in from the lower bumper vents…all sorted now.

Anyway some pictures of the car at SCS. (Credit to those who took the photos, hope they don’t mind)
