Price: gauging interest
Location: Perthshire scotland
Condition: used (less than 3000 miles)
Description: built less than a year ago,i would imagine other internals such as worn synchros etc were also replaced,i am unsure as this was fitted to my ek9 upon importation,it comes with following spec
1st 3.23
2nd 1.900
3rd 1.360
4th 1.034
5th 0.848
fd4.785
lsd spoon 1.5 way
build date 22/03/09
mileage on car at time 96016 km current mileage 100800 km
this is displayed on a sticker on the box,the differential is pretty severe so this would be more for track use than road, the diff alone costs £870 +17.5% vat from spoon europe.

Pictures: To come, the box is still in car and can be driven for test purposes.

Could bve interested if the price is right man

Pm me what sort of price your thinking

keep it, that sounds like a very nice box, if noise is really gettin to you experiment with oils, this can make absolute huge difference

x2, selling this beauty is loser talk lol. seriously try a different fluid... Something like Amsoil should be good or Barry Grant Synchroshift

Might be worth confirming what's been replaced gear wise......

Going by the final drive and ratios, that's just a 98 spec ITR box with taller 2nd/3rd and a shorter 5th, so not THAT much different from a standard box, Spoon diff will be nice though :nice:

its not THAT much different but it IS different.
it IS an s4c ek9 box and not a 98 spec s80 box.
I've attached a pic of the sticker on the box

it says
1st 3.23 98r (yep i know its the same ratio as ek9 1st gear but thats what it says)
2nd 1.900 dc2
3rd 1.360 dc2
4th 1.034 dc2
5th 0.848 ek9
lsd spoon 1.5 way
fd 4.785 98r
date 22/03/09
96016 km (current mileage 100800km)

these are the people that built the gearbox http://orangeball.jp/
i will be asking the export company in japan to contact them for more info regarding the cost and what exactly was replaced i.e synchros, bearings etc.

i also have an ats gearset available but it was expensive and the m factory stuff is cheaper so i wouldnt imagine there would be much interest.

lol . sold mine alot less than that with an m factory gearset and spoon 1.5 way diff

lol,did yours have a 4.785 fd,nope.
had yours only done 3k miles, nope.

not everyone wants a short gearset, useless on the motorway and for the likes of the nurburgring but good for tracks and 1/4 mile so it comes down to personal preference.

its up to me what i want to ask for it,its a for sale thread not a debate,i am willing to listen to serious offers.

I think his had a 4.9 Lol, i might be wrong though!

but you have a point, its almost a brand new box

ha ha,whatever it had,i'm not that interested as it was nothing to do with me and that should work both ways.

i am gauging interest, therfore i am seeing what people are willing to pay,i have mentioned a price to get the ball rolling,i'm not going to take £500 quid for it though,i could sell the diff on its own for that,if i don't get decent money for it it will go in the shed with the other bits that i'm keeping, until the dc5 is gone.

wasnt starting a debate on your for sale thread so chill man (dont take it the wrong way).

if that is a freshly built box with all bearings syncros and shifter fork etc all been done then your rite to be asking around 1k for it . maybe if the company told you exactly what has been done there would be alot of serious interest and offers

Imo your comment is not helping my sale,so thats why i responded the way i did.

I have asked the export company in japan to contact orange ball,i can't see it being rebuilt without it being done properly i.e replacing anything worn etc, there is no doubt that its freshly built they're not gonna put a sticker on the box stating that for no reason and in my experience the japanese are pretty thorough, they don't do things half arsed.

it would cost way more than 1k to get this box built so price is fair and square,
not often does an as new built box become available directly from japan like this one, good luck with your sale,
whoever buys this box is going to be getting a unique bargain,
