As you all may know, I broke the EK for parts. Was sad, but was with best intentions, to get on the property ladder.

Found a house, but plot not available to reserve for few months. So time for a toy in between times, won't be mortgaged up until Autumn.

Picked this up couple weeks ago. It ticked almost every box. Wasn't expensive, was well spec'd as it was my favourite colour

Took the car to my mechanic/tuner today for a quick look over and a run on the dyno to make sure everything was all good with the Golf, and more than happy now that it has a clean bill of health. Making 285bhp and 245lb/ft torque. was worried to start with as it was only making 255 and then after letting the charger cool down it was 270, but he had forgotten to set the Dyno for a 6 cylinder car.

Clean Pipes after a polish yesterday

Good how the charger works. Isnt a constant 8 psi, only makes full boost once at full revs. Not even 5 psi by 5000rpm, so might be worth looking into a smaller pulley for more boost

Couple of videos will be posted later on once youtube stops being a paint in the rectuim

From behind, can hear the charger whistle at the end of the video

again from behind, nice flame on the limiter

and one from the front of the car

One thing i did notice was how much the car moved once it came off the limiter/revs, especially the back end being so soft and bouncing up and down. May need to invest in some stiffer suspension. I have an FK set that i could use, so might go about getting them fitted next week or two.

Bought a few things. Some CL rear lights that are being painted to become all red. Little change from the smoked ones.

Also rummaged my garage and found a pair of standard GTI headlights - split them tonight and will paint inside the housing black during the week. Also found a full set of fog lights and indicators in excellent condition that I will either Laminex or smoke tint (probably Laminex, easier)

Other than that been driving it every so often and getting it dirty lol.

Oh yes!!

17x7.5 Enkei RPF1's. 5x100 Subaru fitment, et48 so will probably need a small spacer to make them it right, but chuffed to bits with the purchase

Just need to get some decent brand tyres for them and a set of red Enkei decals for the wheel rims.

Currently sourcing new red Enkei decals for the rims (2 on each wheel rim) and also 4 red metal Enkei valves to complete them :)

Might end up needing to get a spacer/adaptor to change from wheel bolts to wheel studs, then get some decetn red wheel nuts to go with :)

This is it so far, will update as i go along :)

Awesome car mate. Friend had to mulberry high lines and what a car take so much abuse u would not believe and never missed one beat. Good luck with it.

Mate of mine had one of these, found it to be quite slow and floppy to drive, they only make 190bhp standard dont they? His wasnt charged mind! Love the RPF's an still realy intrested to see what u do with it!

Much prefered your civic though haha :nice:

i remember them garages and drive lol

what a drive that was.

is the ep3 the missus car?

Cheers guys. :) Ofcours ei preferred my Civic as well, but this is much cheaper thrills. :)

No videos of it on the road im afraid, might take it to Crail drag strip and do a few runs on there, but depends on the weather. End of feb and end of march are the dates.

Yea Nuno, the EP3 belongs to the fiancee. Good motor

RPF1's arrived - even more beautiful in the metal.

they are a bit like boats tbh, standard vr6's are slightly slower than ek9s, but these werent ment to be a sports car, more of a rep mobile

Wheels don't clear the brakes.

Figured out with a 15mm spacer they will sit exactly the same as how the OZ's do, so will be 15mm hubcentrics all round with wheels studs, then some red tuner nuts to finish it off :)

Will you need extended wheel studs with 15mm spacers?

I always loved the vr6 also stick a filter on n they gota be 1 of the best soundin cars ever grest sleeper matey :nice:

It'll be extended wheel bolts, but the spacers I'm hoping to get will have studs so I can run wheel nuts instead.

Poke shouldn't be too bad, will be same as how it sits on the OZ's.

wicked car mate, Sounds amazing from behind... Must be a nice drive with all that power to access.

Can't wait to see it on Enkies, glad you changed them as the current wheels are... a bit naff i'll say lol.

Cheers guys. Looks like to go with my plans it needs to be 20mm spacers - but whats 5mm between friends eh :p

New rear lights - fit them next week at some point if i get a chance
