MISSION ACCOMPLISHED [EK9 replica project]

Why are the wheel colors not matching the body color?
also the side skirts dont seem to fit to the body at the rear arch, what up with that?

Looks good!
thats the oem colour of the wheels, they are an off white.

Wow well done mate, I hope you have a really good alarm on her as I would hate to read the worst has happened.
Got any more pics? what did it start out as?
Dunx

I'll post current pictures up soon because I literally just finished the car last night so there was no sun out to take pictures. This is the picture of the car from Day 1 when it was purchased.

The side skirt has been like that since DAY 1 when I got it. I replied to someone' else's post just now about my car on DAY 1. You can look at the side skirt in that photo and see that is it exactly the same too. So it wasn't my fault. Maybe the factory wasn't perfect when they made it or something. The side skirt is slid all the way to the rear as much as possible too because it is completely flushed on the front end of the side skirt where the two screws are. I'm thinking it must have been like this since it was from the factory.

Well done bud.:nice:
What's your plans engine and transmission wise?

I am completely satisfied with my engine and transmission right now. I will not talk about it though. I NEVER talk about whats under my hood in public over the internet and also in person. I literally have people asking me what I have EVERY SINGLE DAY. I always give them the same reply, "I don't talk about it for security purposes." I want to protect my car as much as possible.

Amazing transformation.

Hope you don't mind me uploading picture for people to admire how much effort you have put in.

Even the AFTER picture of the car in this photo is outdated. In this photo, it doesn't have the CTR side moldings, CTR mirrors, and CTR real rear lip. I have all of that now of course. I will take current pictures soon. LOL
*Keep in mind that the top half of the photo has been flipped horizontally so that the car faces the same way. LOL. Notice the gas cap.*

brilliant work man, the only thing that i can see that looks a little off is the wingmirrors? The rest is spot on perfect! :woot:

Huh? What do you mean? Where do you see the mirrors? I don't have a single photo on the internet of my car in it's current state. Are you looking at the photo Carlton_nc posted? That picture is not up to date. You can tell because I don't have the CTR decals on the car. LOL. I have ALL CTR parts right now but no pictures of the whole car yet. I will have pictures of it soon.

THe steering wheel is the wrong side you may sort that out........ I joke, Fair play it looks sweet even without the decals, Proximity alarm is best bet.

My alarm is fully loaded, it's not even funny. I did the best I could.

Really good job! Enjoy it as much as you can, and not make it a show car. Serious effort put into this car. Colour is NH-0 or NH-538? I can see what Tama says about your wheel, and to add to that, bumper matches wheel but not rear quarter. Don`t mean to be a dick here, just a small detail that hits my eye, due to my profession.

What antiroll bar/sway bar are you running?
Did you swap out the rear lower sub-frame to be EK9?

I don't have those stuff on my car. I'll work on that when I have extra money and time. I just have a B-pillar bar and Skunk2 springs with KYB AGX struts. I'm getting a 6-point roll cage, cross bar, c-pillar bar, rear upper strut bar, and butterfly bars in three weeks.

LOL. No, the bumper is the same color as the entire car because it was painted when the whole car was painted. It must be the lighting and position of it. I think the wheel is like that because the color gets worn down over time or something. I did buy these wheels used. Color is NH-0.

Nice work, must have been quite expensive as you probably don't have a lot of EK9's breaking in the States.

Is it still a SOHC engine?
Just wondering hence no engine bay pictures.
It's looks okay otherwise, like every other 9 I suppose... :)

I can just tell the passion Michael has for this car in the way he speaks about it.

Respect dude, trust me mate, Know one doubts your level of dedication to this build
:D The car is a credit to you

6point cage, really? Whats under the hood? 1.6 ~ 1.8 DOHC?
That is a ton of weight and will stiffen up the car quite a bit, which is a positive plus, but not the added weight. Think about safety with the cage, you do not want your body coming in contact with any of the bars during an accident; head, arms, hands, legs or feet. Where you and your passengers may come in contact with the cage pad with SFI 41.1 padding.

The CTR's are a great handling car most of all. Looks are one thing and simple to do, but the way the car is built underneath is way more important. CTR's have a reenforced lower rear subframe as well as a stiffer chassis overall making them very desirable for the driving enthusiast.

If it is only base model 1.4 it wont have the brackets on the front arms, worth picking up a set if you spot them in a breakers,
Ive fitted different types of arb's onto "converted" 1.4's and it makes a massive difference in the cars handling.
