Hi All,

We are in the middle of designing a new brake setup for a couple of cars with different options all of which can use OEM Honda discs.

1st - Ek, Eg, Dc - 282x25mm discs with 4 piston Brembo calipers with 4x40mm pistons. Discs can be 5x114.3/4x114.3/4x100 (using mg discs)

2nd - Ek, Eg, Dc - 300x25mm discs with 4 piston Brembo calipers with 4x40mm pistons. Discs can be 5x114.3

3rd - Ep - 300x25mm discs with 4 piston Brembo calipers with 4x40mm pistons. Discs can be 5x114.3

4th - Ep - 315x28mm discs with 4 piston Brembo calipers with 4x40mm pistons. Discs can be 5x114.3

All of which will come with custom brackets to suit, braided lines, and a choice of pads.

Price is not set yet but we know for sure that they will be a hell of a lot cheaper than the other big setups and very competetive to that of the wilwoods price although this caliper is bigger and better in our opinion.

Question is would there be people who would be interested in these?

If people would prefer just calipers and brackets that can be arranged also.

Thanks in advance

Ben

I have just bought a Willwood setup from Stewart at freakyparts but if I you had these kits available at the time I would have considered both as I know that Brembo are another good and well trusted brake brand

Out of interest, what exact Brembo calipers are you using for the kits... pictures of the components would help to get peoples interest imo

Sounds good !
A break down in price would be very helpful
When you know more.
Sounds interesting to me .
Regards lee

Hi SPek9 - yeah i had the wilwoods on my ek9 for a while and they were really good but for me the pad area was just so little. I feel with the brembo calipers the stopping power will be even better than that of the superlites.

Calipers at this moment will be kept to ourselves for now until completed but they are well known and are more than up to the job Brand new radial mounted and are used in cup races so they are more than up to the job on such lightweight chassis.

And there are more than enough choice in pads.

Personally i would recommend carbotech or carbone lorraine for the more track goer. Or maybe ds2500/3000 for a daily.

Pads can be changed quickly anyway without removing caliper.

Regards

Ben

No problem lee. As soon as we have a final product we will lay out the prices and all confirmed parts used.

Thanks

I would be interested in a set of 300s for an EG, when are we hoping to have a price for them?

sounds interesting, would they fit under 15" rims and/or do they require spacers?

Also do you have a price for pads, say for example a set of DS2500's to fit the calipers that you will be supplying?

Another reason I chose the willwoods is because you can buy a set of front DS2500 pads for £65 which is less than half the price of the DC2/ek9 oem caliper pads

Ds2500 are pants though.

I'm interested in a 300mm set for my ek9, once I've killed my current carbone Lorraine's that is.

DS2500's have been more than enough for me on a fast circuit braking from 120mph+ on both straights, I have used DS3000's and didn't notice that much difference

I used Carbon Lorraine RC6 and RC5+ and found them good but they seemed to be very hard on the discs. It also depends on the useage, if you were doing sprints etc then the Carbon Lorraine wouldn't get up to the right temp to work well

@Jamie_EK9 - No problem, Will get some up asap!
@darren-godfrey - Well like I say we are working on them now so once we have confirmed all parts used and materials needed we will let you know, hoping mid-late Feb.
@elchunk - We are hoping they fit under the 282 setup will fit behind the OEM Ek9 wheels as they have quite a lot of clearance. But again we will confirm.
@SPek9 - Very valid point this, I will have to find out how much they cost BUT I am guessing more than £65 to be honest. The wilwood pads are a steal at that price!
@LiamEk9 - In my opinion Carbone Lorraine's are a superior pad to the DS2500 yes, But then Like SPek9 says it depends on the use of them. OK will let you know once they are complete.

Just to let you guys know, All parts will be available to purchase separately if that is what you would prefer to do.

Thanks again

Ben

Was considering the wilwood superlites but may hold out to see what you offer. Would be the 282 4x100 setup so I can carry on using the same wheels and stud pattern I'm running atm , my teg calipers are due a refurb so might as well do an upgrade.

Also interested, looking to buy a brake kit now ideally for my dc2 to finish it off but if the price is right I could try hold out.

Sounds good to me. I like the idea of switching to 4 pots so I don't have to deal with sticking slider pins!

For me I'm using 4x100 mg discs so will be good to see a kit that works with those. I suppose you will just have to compete with the wildwood kit on price that freaky parts offer.

Hopefully they will be able to fit under 15" wheels.

What metal are you making the brackets out of?

very interested, what kind of discs are they? full floating? If so could a 4x114 hub be bolted to a 315mm disc.... hard to find any discs larger than a 282 for 4x114. Would be interested in a custom order if possible.

I wouldn't be buying anything with a secret caliper specification!

Are these OEM calipers off another car, or proper aftermarket items?
