Hi,

Was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Megan Racing 4-1 manifold, good or bad? Was considering one to replace my DC Sports manifold as I prefer the sound. and also due to the fact my DC one isnt stainless.

I had megan racing 4-1 on my Civic VTi.
Unfortunately the tubes layout not very good and the ground clearance neither.

If your car is modified the megan isn't enough.

Not sure what's been done to the car mods wise to be honest. It pulls away from my mates ep3 and r32 which made me think it may have had headwork/cams done. It used to have a turbo on it previously so not sure. I had a look at the dc manifold and the pipes seem very thin to me on the lower part of the manifold. I also prefer the sound of the megan racing after watching a video. What manifold would you recommend that makes good power but isn't overly expensive.

Megan racing sound is very similar as subaru boxer engine which is not so natural by a Honda engine.

What is your limit for a header?

check this:

What kind of engine do you have? (H22?)

I previously had a 4-1 on my old car and preferred the boxer like sound to the usual loud raspy sound you get from most civic exhausts. I also checked the exhaust manifold thread although I want a manifold which sounds good as well as make good power. Car is running a b16.

I had one on my old ek9. I had no problem with it at all. I liked the sound of it to. I had no real problems with ground clearance problems as my car was not lowered.. Just took my time with speed bumps. I also noticed good enough gains from it to.

Think i'll give it a try and see how it goes! Now to choose a decent stainless exhaust.

I had a Megan 4-1 on my VTi and it allowed my cammed B16A2 to make 189bhp. It was not the limiting factor in my car's setup, the ECU was, I was using the stock one - a P30 with just an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

I will agree on the ground clearance comment, I scraped (but didnt dent) the bottom of the manifold.

My car (99' VTi) was only 178 HP on the dyno with the megan header. (EK9 cams, P28 ecu, Simota CAI, EK9 intake manifold, skunk2 catback sys.) we modified the intake system and then was the car 184 HP.
The expert who did the instalation said: "you should change the header for a better one" and now I have a vibrant 4-2-1 header which is much better than the megan 4-1. Since I replaced the intake manifold (skunk2) and the CAI (AEM V2) as well. I'll check it on dyno in spring.:)

:blabla: Peak hp figures mean nothing. Almost every different dyno gives different results, Way to many variables and calibration differences.
