Hey all!

Had my EK9 since 21st April, about time I put a thread up!

Picked it up from Dunx @ FastJapCars a week ago, been smiling ever since!

1999 Championship White Facelift EK9 Lightweight

(No airbags, no ABS, no electric windows etc)

Current Mods -
2.5" Custom Stainless Exhaust System
Momo Corse Steering Wheel
JDM Wind Deflectors
8000K HIDs & LED sides
Mugen Front Lip (filled in slots)

Future Plans -
New Honda Badges (current have faded)
Cam Cover Rising Sun Design
Powder Coat Calipers Red
Uprated Discs & Pads
AEM/ITG Induction Kit
SFS Coolant Hoses
Red HT Leads
Red Reservoir Socks
Generally Restore Parts (paint wiper arms, treat rusty brackets, steam clean engine bay, underseal car etc)
Possibly Race Header/Intake Manifold later on.

Already painted wiper arms & sorted some brackets out this weekend, looks much better for it. Also clayed & tar removed the whole car & gave it a damn good wash!

Here she is -

Looks really nice!

New badges will finish the exterior nicely.

Wow you have been busy. Looks stunning and can't wait to see it at JapFest. Are you going to paint the little squares in the bumper before the show ;)

Cheers! Will be ordering badges soon once I'm paid!

Haha yeah, spent all weekend working on it. Need a different picture of the engine bay, radiator brackets have been tidied up etc. wipers painted too as I said. Just little things really to restore it back to tip top condition! I will try to do them next weekend, should be done by JapFest :)

Looking good mate! New badges will make a big difference!

Engine bay looks clean, top job!

Another minter from Dunx, congrats on the purchase mate, stunning :nice:

Thanks guys!

As said, I tidied up the engine bay a little at the weekend, still lots to do though!

Changed to a stainless bracket on the radiator hose with a red bolt, painted the air con radiator bracket in Hammerite & painted the wiper arms too, plus generally giving everywhere a clean down. But that's just the start on the engine bay :)

Cheers!

Another few updates -

The '9 went in for some spraying yesterday at a mates bodyshop. The bumper vents are meant to be black but were white after the installation of the Mugen lip.

Really happy with it, finishes off the front end nicely!

Spent 5 hours washing the car, engine bay & restoring the paintwork today as part of my preparations for JapFest next week! Looks miles better for it.

I think the car has been nearby some welding in the past as there was a lot of burnt on particles which had rusted in the paint surface on the plastic components such as the rear bumper (which won't rust) and the alloys which also won't rust as they're aluminium.

Got my wet & dry, some rubbing compound & gave everything a good rub down. Polished up to finish & the improvement is excellent.

Before - Metal particles in between the spokes on the wheels -

the mugen lip looks alot better with the slots filled
I really like this:nice:

Thanks guys! I will be at JapFest next week, hope to see some of you there!

I'm basically just restoring parts of the car to the way they should be & some subtle mods over time. Don't want to be taking it too far from standard, it's amazing just how it is IMO!

Although I also prefer the Mugen lip smoothed :) appreciate the comments!

Very nice. Looks the part. Sure is going to be some lovely examples at japfest. Not long now!

definitely will be! hope the weather's nice. Given rain in Castle Combe Saturday...

Hi Matt
Looks outstanding now and your attention to detail is faultless! looking forward to seeing it again at JapFest.
