Matt's Facelift EK9.

Today I was able to get some work done on the suspension. I had soaked the rear lca bolts with rust penetrant for the last 3 weeks and was relieved when they all came

undone.

Work carried:

- Hardrace rear lca's.(still not sure on the colour)

- Bolts Bolts lca bolts.

- Superflex rear anti-roll bar D bushes.

- Superflex front anti-roll bar D bushes.

- Benen subframe brace has been removed.

- Refitted the standard subframe brace, which is now painted bronze.

- Waxoyled the rear subframe inside and out.

Cheers buddy.(Sorry for the late reply..)

I was made a good offer for the mugen intake and i would've been a fool to turn it down. The money from it went towards my new exhaust.

This morning I got some more parts fitted to the car and today's focus was brakes.

I've removed the Ferodo pads due them squeaking at low speed and have replaced them with Honda OEM items.

Fitted Hel brake lines from Cobra Performance.

Flushed/bled the brake system with Honda brake fluid.

Waxoyled all exposed metal brake pipes and adjusted the handbrake.

My passenger wiper arm had some paint flaking off so this got rubbed down, given a coat of etch primer then a couple of coats of satin black.

This afternoon I got few more things done to the car.

Today I've re-bled the brakes, the pedal felt a little spongy after fitting the brake lines.

Fitted a DC sports intake pipe with a Blox 3 inch velocity stack and air filter.(still need to make a heat shield for the filter)

Modified the standard cold air feed so air flows up to the filter.

Fitted a 200 cel high flow cat.(excuse the poor pic)

Replaced the damaged nearside door tweeter.

Fitted some Skunk 2 dress up washers that my younger brother bought for me.

This week,I bought a couple of new parts for the car.

A Spoon rear view mirror glass, the original one was looking a bit scabby around the edges. I got this off Adam (6TWO1).

I've also got a new steering wheel...a nearly new OEM EK9 Momo wheel. The wheel has no signs of wear, the stitching is still bright red but the only imperfection is a small

scratch on the horn button.

Since fitting the new induction kit I was curious to see if the filter suffered with massive heat soak or not. So I bought a cheap thermometer and carried out a very basic test.(this was done last week when we had some warm weather)

These were the results:

Temperature under the bonnet with a cold engine:

Engine at full operating temperature at idle:

Then cruising at 70mph(picture taken after stopping)

The results were pretty much I had expected..

Old wheel:

New wheel:

Thanks for looking.

Just a small update today..

I treated myself to some Tein bonnet dampers. I ended up getting these from Rhdjapan as I was struggling to find them in the uk.

Today,i've been busy with the car again.

It's been 6000 miles since the last service so i thought i'd get it done this morning.

Only a small was due which consisted of:

Engine oil + filter - Shell helix 05w-40.

Gearbox oil - MTF3.

Fuel filter.

I've also replaced the washer jets for Jazz ones.

Buffed up the headlights with some fine cutting compound, they where starting to look a little yellow. And giving it a much needed clean.
