Hi guys

Decides to see what was in my catch can now theres a fair few miles on the engine. Mostly what I expected I guess. More emulsified oil in the can ends of the rocker cover lines than I would of expected. Guessing it's down to the very cold damp weather and the can being open to condensation?

Oil is fine as is the coolant.

You said it rob , it's down to the open pcv/breather system and condensation making its way into the system.
. Seen worse oil than that from a catch , it is hideous crap lol

Mine would go like that if I wasn't beating on it the whole time.
Soon as I hit the track its gone.

This is why i've deleted my drain back.

Lads and ladys remove the breather box and run to catch can and have it drain back into the block were the box drains the oil back into the crack case .

Like from the can back in?

Yeah, normally the bottom two ports on the battery can go to the two ports on the back of the block - that acts as a drain back. If you live somewhere really dry its less of a problem - just not keen on it personally.

I drain mine back, the oil in the can is mixed with water and when it's in the can it's far too cold to boil it off.
Draining it all back stops it from happening in the first place as its all boiled off.

As @jesse888 says the moisture in the catch can can't boil off when it sits in there. When it's drained back into sump the water gets boiled off along with any moisture in sump.
