Hi, since i got my honda EJ9 its fine and all but i want to make a project.
Its really rusty so i want to take it appart ( put everything off from the car till the steal, fix the rusts, put an new color on and rebuilt it without any problems.
So i know this will be an half year or more job but i just wanted to ask if there are any books, videos, tutorials about dismounting and rebuilding a honda civic EJ 1996 ? Thank you

haynes manual should cover some of the basic stuff, but once you get started you will have the car stripped in no time. Its either some screws or some bolts for the outer and inner panels, a day would have the majority of it stripped off.

Be very careful before you undertake a resto project... the more you dig the more you find and the less experience you have the more likely you will end up looking for outside help (expensive). Lots of projects get started and soon become too much... took me 3 years to finish my first resto project, seems easy at first then soon becomes serious business and a big learning curve, worth it in the end of course.

Best advice as said, grab a few Haynes Manuals. The one you have posted is a basic DIY book (engine/wiring etc) grab it yes, but then also grab yourself a universal body repair book covering welding, paint prep etc, that will also give you a quick reference to what tools you need for what ever job you tackle first.

Also perhaps if its as bad as you think it might be, take it to a good honest mechanic (not your typical street corner geezer), try and find an old school resto guy and have him give the car a good once over to make sure all the important stuff is solid.

If you have a garage your lucky, if not invest in a solid gazebo or something.

Not to put you off it but really think about what you want from the car after you restore it, is it worth it ? Do you want to keep it ? Track project/daily ? You've chosen a good base to play with, just don't strip it, start it, fall out of love and end up left with a half done project in pieces.

Good luck tho bud and you have an endless source of info here and on the rest of the web!

would like to see this if you decide to go for the resto then would you be able to upload a wee picture diary of it once its done :)
