Lightweight DC2 K20 Build - Dyno Day Update!

Some very quick progress, mine will probably take me years lol.
Good stuff though, K20 always looks best in the older chassis.

The swap took longer than we had planned as with it being winter it was cold and my garage was freezing so we kind of dragged it out a bit

car looks awesome and even better with a K in it. I used hardrace when rebushing my SiR and it felt like a new car after, the rear lca's i found a nightmare to do!

did you save much by using the whole EP3 and selling what you didnt use?

Thanks! I haven't done the rear LCA as I plan to buy some Function7 ones in the near future so don't want to stress myself trying to rebush them :p

I would have saved more if I broke the EP3 for parts myself but I just took the engine, box, brakes and shafts. My EP3 was very high spec and I sold the shell with all the bits on it for buttons really and lost a few ££££'s on it but I couldn't be bothered breaking it as I had 5 cars on the driveway and the mrs was going a bit mad

So got round to making the intake to the spec Aonghus recommend using some 3" and 3.5" alloy pipe and joiners with my 3.5" Blox Velocity stack and filter.

Then came D-Day!

@Vtec6000 came over and worked his magic with the car and to say I am happy with the result is an understatment!

The car made 264.4bhp + 186ft/lbs and revs all the way to 8800rpm!

We ended up maxing out the oem fuel pump. So I got a walbro, we put it in and tweaked the map to suit which has helped as the oem fuel pump was struggling.

Very happy with it and how strong the car pulls for being N/A is crazy!

Can't thank @Vtec6000 and @RyanSi enough for their help with the build so far.

Now its time to start sorting the suspension, tyres and brakes in time for some trackdays :)!

Ill say it again.
What a result!

Anyone come at you with "but is it a genuine 264hp" yet?

Took some time to tidy up the rear arch lips they were looking a bit tired.

Not perfect but they are better. The car will eventually get a full respray but just going to enjoy it for a bit after it is finished :)

Before:

After:

Then I went ahead and bit the bullet. Bought some more "proper" coilovers since the car will be more track focused.

First impression are that they are really well made and good quality! Will order all the hardrace arms next week and get everything on.

Last things to do are EP3 brakes on, better fluid, get the Spoon wheels refurbed and tyres then it can go for its first trackday.

Cheers mate. Working away next week but once I am back I will be placing an order with Hardrace for the last bits, getting my brakes put on and I have just ordered tyres today so will put them on once the wheels get refurbed.

Couple of weeks and it should be done.

Track day is booked for 28th June at Knockhill for a 3 hour open pit session :)

Must be super sharp with such power...

Toyos on the rear? 888's or Proxes?

You'll love the 08's- different league!!

Got my Hardrace front/rear camber and toe arms today

Been very busy with work again lately but hope to get the old suspension off this weekend.

All that is left to do is get the front hubs off and machined with new bearings so I can fit my EP3 brakes, fit all the new suspension then it can go for MOT and a full alignment!

Tyres will be here next week which means I can drop the wheels off to be refurbished :)

Not long away now. Hopefully another 2-3 weeks and it should be finished and ready for a bit of testing!

Nothing exciting. Front hub off and away to Automek along with the EP3 discs and calipers. Should get them back very soon all ready to run the 300mm set up :)

My tyres should arrive Tuesday/Wednesday then I can put the wheels in to be refurbished.

Some very nice bits gone into this! Should handle like its on rails...Charlie is class btw :D
