I have physically seen a B16 knock sensor sottered and glued back together with positive results. With "positive results" I'm meaning the check engine light stayed off after 'repairs'. That being said, I would never trust that repair- Knock sensors are super sensitive- factory Honda ECU's retard timing at less than a 1.0 volt Knock input, on a 0-5 volt scale. Super critical stuff.
I second you replace it.

I have been having poor mileage on b18c swap, the knock sensor was falling off and glued back by my buddy. It didn't throw out any cel, but I was only getting 300km a tank in city.

Recently it was replaced with a brand new oem unit, the car immediately retards the timing and I'm getting extra 75km.

Good question Hikaru- Living in California, the OEM knock sensor here ( for the B engines ) that I have seen have all been blue. The aftermarket ones I've seen have been black. I believe all the B series knock senors have the same connectors, but maby they changed the color due to the ODB1-OBD2. The D17 engines have a black knock sensor that is specific to itself, and so does the J series engine.
Maby depending on where it was made? or possible there is a different design internally due to different programing in the ECU because of different octane gas and such that is found in places around the world. Like Japan, where they have high octane at the pumps ( lucky guys ). I'm curious as well...

Have you reset the ecu by removing the battery terminals for 10 minutes?

Do the idle relearn if you could while you are on it, and check the timing. I've to adjust my timing because the new KO is too sensitive which makes the ecu to retard my motor.

I'm guessing the CEL has the same code for knock? # P0325, aka, 23 flashes at the CEL light-

Hikaru, your false knock signals you were getting, was that on an internally stock engine? Curious...

yes, fully stock.

Interesting. I've ran into that problems with forged internals giving off false knock, but never a stock set up before. Thanks for the info.
I have read that torquing the knock sensor too tight will make it more sensitive, and torquing it under spec makes it less sensitive- but have never tested it.
