Kia Ora ek9.org, my name is Dieter. Im from new Zealand and like all of us, is a wee bit obsessed with Honda's Ek9 Civic. I'm mainly on NZhondas.com, but have heard a lot of positive comments about ek9.org so thought ill come pop by this neck of the woods as well.

Im currently rebuilding a Ek9, loving every step of the way. Iv had my civic for just under a year now, have done a couple of simple cosmetic modificatios as well as pulled the b16b motor apart for a rebuild.

After a 12hour train ride, I finally picked it up. Here's my Civic on the day I picked it up

And then sh*t got real. Stripped ready for a rebuilld.

Rebuilds been interesting, learnt alot and enjoying every second of it :)
This is the current state of the engine, Not much to go before its back in.

Some more photo's of my civic, and some mate's cars.

Cheers guys

Welcome mate some nice motors there!

Welcome til the forum.. Nice work with the build.
Wat did u change? Pistion rings value steam oil seal ect?
Are many Honda heads over Austria?

@eamon EK9: Im in New Zealand, but yep, a big Honda community here :)

The reason I did the rebuild is because the kms/miles started to get high (180xxxkm) and when I bought the car is was smoking a wee bit due to a worn guide. So I replaced the guides with copper ones, did valve stem seals, 3degree grind etc to the head. To the block I got it cleaned and acid dipped, crank and rods balanced and upgraded to .25 Spoon oversized pistons. Honda bearings, Honda Headbolts, ARP main bolts. And then the basics such as new seals, water pump, inspected oil pump, cambelt, a lot of maintenance things that was well overdue.

As you can tell I haven't done huge power upgrades, I'm not really going for a high powered 1600, I'm all about balance. In my eyes a healthy engine with a good brake and suspension setup is a winner :)

Here's some photo's of the build:

And made sure I clean my vtec solly, because everyone knows that gives me MaD VtaX.

Cheers for the lovely welcome lads :nice:

Hahaha R8edM me once meet again :) Damn ur EK9 is getting cleaner and cleaner each time >< Whats your current plan for it Naturally Aspirated or Turbo?

Welcome to the forum! Clean looking 9 :D Once you get use to the power you'l want to push more out it ;)

A bit of an update:

Engine in YUS, only have a couple of things still to assemble and a some fluids to top up then it'll be ready for its first pop.

Gearbox and engine fully assembled

And as it sits now, just need to top up gearbox oil, and bleed the clutch then its all go :)
