Jimbobs' B18c EK9 Hondata Tuned + VIDs


Ahh man.

I'm just going to use either one and forget about it!

Jimbob: I looked at your video again, I'm sure you have the 4.4FD 96spec box. I remember seeing your first video as well and commented that it was a 4.4. My 3rd gear hits 140-142kmph @ 9000rpm which is nothing close to yours 152kmph @ 8600rpm. Your 1st gear hits well around 65kmph, which is higher than mine. With a 4.78 installed, you should be even more happier. Nothing to bog down about, its good youve got the 96spec box which is same as B16B.
using the figures from the dyno and the m factory calculator it works out spot on for a 4.785 tho, do bear in mind that spedo's and the ek9 rev counter are known for in accuracy and are all different so it would seem, i also have 4.785 but my clock is in mph,


apparently a fair bit.

i was going to swap over to a 4.9 i while back and the guy that was going to do it for me down my way said a few things needed to be changed along with the final drive...........

There was a parts list of things needed with it. About 5 things if i remember correctly.

a final drive kit, a nut, and a couple of new bearings is all thats really needed providing everything else is in good order.

not to hard to do either.

True, but even though you use the Mfactory calculator, stock B16B gears should be 3400rpm 5th gear @ 100kmph. And 3700rpm with the 4.785FD. Unless my car is dodgy. usually with stock gears, 2nd gear ends at 100kmph @ 8600rpm. Jb's is about right there.

Jb's 150kmph @ 8600rpm in 3rd gear

vs

My 140kmph @ 9000rpm in 3rd gear

Speedo cant lie this much :)

Anyways gear ratios aside, even though I have more RPM and shorter ratios, it just show how much more powerful and faster revving a B18C is compared to B16B. With same ratios, JB's top end will be on a different league.

i will try these rpm's in those gears in my car next time i'm out, and do the maths to get a kmph figure, just for another comparison:nice:
 
you can use stock gears with OEM FD as well. :nice:

legend has it that the counter shaft is a different size where first gear sits, so you would need the oem itr 1st gear and few other bits:nice:

i just used a 98 spec s80 and fitted ek9 4th and 5th.

Rite guy’s sorry for the late reply, I have been out playing all day!:drive:

I cant explain to you guy’s how different my 9 feels now, it feels like a totally different car!:D
The only way I can explain is my 9 before hand was quite a jerky car to drive both on & off the throttle & now it jus feels like im driving a sheet of silk!:clap:
The difference in power is f***ing awesome, no matter what gear im in I just put my foot down & it starts to pull like a train right through the rev range!
It feels so much faster & smother now, im just loving it!:bow:
If anyone ask's the question is the B18 worth it or not then i welcome anyone to come drive my car, because it will defo answer there question for them! LOL

Watching him tuning my car I renamed him the MAD SCEINTIST, he just knows too much! LOL
If anyone wants there Honda tuning I would advice everyone to go see WILL, the guy is a legend!:bow::bow::bow::bow::bow:

All in all I just cant believe the power WILL got out of my 9 & I just cant stress enough how different my car drives now!

I totally understand what you are talking about and feeling deep in your heart...1.8 b18c's are just flat out a very silky smooth power generator. I was completely taken back with my jdm b18c. I will be getting a header put on and then off to my tuner to get the s300 fitting to my setup.
:drive: my car is fvcken fast now...im just at a loss for words.
