Ive been abit quiet lately, adult life has me saving plenty of pennies due to buying my first property, for those in the south east of england youll know just how expensive that is....
This means that my civic wont be getting any upgrades for a while, so with that thread now lying somewhat dormant until track season arrives, ive decided to keep you guys posted on what ill be doing in the mean time....
First up we have the tuning of @B16Swt turbo ek9 build, if youve not seen it then where have you been? Go check it out!!
This is sheduled for late jan (weather permitting) and will be my first proper map on another persons car. Ive done afew remote tunes on a couple of D series turbos that needed help with the fueling side of their map but not a full on tune on a build of sams spec! (Other than my own) so im super pleased for the opportunity to tune that and show everyone what i can do. As you can imagine getting tuning work when your litrally a ghost in the tuning scene is very difficult so im hoping that will open some eyes/ears for me.
Afew sneak pics stolen from sams build thread..
Next up, starting approximately late Feb/early march. The biggest tuning challenge ive faced yet!.... K20 turbo ep3 build.
Ill be hands on with this one as its my brothers car, hes ordered the new Schuband-autoworks sidewinder kit and practically everything is coming direct from schuband himself. Like a delivery from the car gods basically...
(This is the prototype kit on schubands own car)
So ill document that whole process either here or on members rides and update as and when.
The turbo is a precision 5858, now for those that dont know thats a sizable turbo(620hp rated iirc) and this is going on a bone stock k20 engine.... now you see why i said this is the biggest challenge yet! Not only my first kseries map, my first kseries turbo map and on a stock engine with huge power potential so any small mistake could see the engine let go.
Our aim is a low boost setup for a while(about 1 bar), check the condition of the engine and how its responding to making decent power in stock form, then once the funds for a forged build are available we'll whack up the boost and see what the stock kseries can truely handle! Afew cars out there making way over 500hp(depends whos dyno its on) on stock blocks so should be doable. Ultimate test for me and the block though so that will be interesting!
Ill also rate the schuband kit whilst im there, ive had and seen my fair share of parts in my time and hes well rated with some northern friends i have so hopfully he will live up to their hype.
So yeah thats the future for me this year(so far). I thought as my cars journey has somewhat slowed/stopped id update you guys with my own journey instead.
